Lizzo unites with Queer Eye’s Fab Five for a brilliant and empowering animated lyric video for her track Soulmate in honor of Pride Month

Self care and self love have been absolutely central to the messaging of both singer Lizzo as well as the men of Netflix’s Queer Eye, so a partnership between the two was only natural.

And on Friday, the interwebs were graced with the official lyric video for Lizzo’s fantastic song Soulmate, which featured an animated ‘hot collab’ between the Juice songstress and the Fab Five.

Soulmate is the fourth track off the 32-year-old musician’s Grammy-winning album Cuz I Love You, and it’s themed around being one’s ‘own soulmate.’

This isn’t the Brady Bunch: On Friday, YouTube was graced with the official lyric video for Lizzo’s fantastic song Soulmate, which featured an animated ‘hot collab’ between the Juice songstress and Queer Eye’s Fab Five

The video, which premiered on YouTube on Friday, features cartoon iterations of Lizzo herself in various fantastical get-ups, along with surprisingly spot-on drawn renditions of Tan France, Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness.

The colorful clip starts on ‘Self Love Lane’ with Lizzo strutting about, and soon she meets Brown for the first chorus, illustrated with fun neon lights.

‘I’m my own soulmate, I know how to love me, I know that I’m always gonna hold me down,’ Lizzo sings.

Then it’s off to party with Bobby in a 70’s-style interlude, in which he pours her some lemonade (or perhaps it’s white sangria).

When the chorus returns, Lizzo again sings of the value and virtue of loving oneself:

‘Yeah, I’m my own soulmate, No, I’m never lonely, I know I’m a queen but I don’t need no crown, Look up in the mirror like damn she the one’

Different animation styles capture Lizzo frolicking with Tan, Antoni and Jonathan, but each passage captures the energy and essence of their on-screen personas.

A particularly cute moment comes when the Tempo hitmaker goes puppy shopping with Porowski, or when she luxuriates in her long tresses while grooming guru Van Ness does the same.

Queer Eye, the Emmy-winning reboot of Bravo’s Queer Eye For The Straight Guy from 2003, earlier this month unveiled the episodes of its fifth season.
