Teyana Taylor reveals that Erykah Badu will assist in the delivery of her second child as midwife

Teyana Taylor during a radio interview Wednesday revealed that she has another collaboration with Erykah Badu in the works.

The 29-year-old singer during a remote appearance on Nick Cannon Mornings on Power 106 said that Erykah, 49, will help assist in the delivery of her second child.

Erykah also was featured on Teyana’s song Lowkey from her recently released third studio album titled The Album.

‘I don’t know if I want to go to the hospital for this next baby. I’ll make sure it’s not on the toilet or the bathroom floor,’ Teyana told Nick, 39.

Teyana shared that she’s been ‘considering home birth, and I’m actually going to be doing it with Erykah. Her and Iman are going to deliver my baby,’ she said referencing her 29-year-old husband Iman Shumpert.

‘I’m super excited. I’ma have her just sing her verse from ”Lowkey” to me to calm my nerves,’ Teyana said after Nick noted that Erykah, who is a certified doula, was a midwife.

Teyana gave birth to her daughter Junie on the bathroom floor in 2015 after she went into early labor and Iman delivered the baby on his own. She said the experience was making her lean toward a home birth for their second child, but with better preparation.

Iman and Teyana have been married since October 2016.

The New York City native earlier this month confirmed her second pregnancy in the music video for her single Wake Up Love.

The Album was released on June 19 and features guest appearances from Erykah, Lauryn Hill, Kehlani, Future, Rick Ross, Quavo and Missy Elliott.

Iman and their daughter Junie also appear on the album.

The singer, dancer, model and actress starred with her basketball player husband in the 2018 VH1 reality series Teyana & Iman.

Teyana confirmed during the radio interview that she was expecting another girl.
