Mollie King shares photo with Stuart Broad on his birthday

‘I wish we could be together’: Mollie King shares rare throwback photo with cricketer boyfriend Stuart Broad as she wishes him a happy birthday

They’ve been dating since early 2018 and are fairly private about their romance.

But Saturdays star Mollie King, 33, shared a rare picture of herself with cricketer boyfriend Stuart Broad, 34, as she wished him a happy birthday on Wednesday.

The couple looked very loved up in the Instagram photo taken on a beach on a pre-lockdown holiday at a tropical location.

‘I wish we could be together’: Mollie King shared a rare Instagram throwback photo with cricketer boyfriend Stuart Broad on Wednesday as she wished him a happy birthday

Mollie wrote: ‘Happy birthday @stuartbroad8 I wish we could be together today but I’m so happy you’re back doing what you love. We’re all cheering you on.’

Stuart is currently in training for an England match which will be taking place on July 8. He discussed his sporty girlfriend Mollie in an interview with Mail On Sunday.

He said: ‘Being restricted to my home in Nottingham for the longest stretch I can remember in my career has meant I have gone from international cricket to playing against my girlfriend Mollie, who has become quite good at batting, posting her efforts on Instagram.

‘She has been very enthusiastic. Some might say a bit too enthusiastic on occasion — like when she bowled the ball over the net, which is between 10-12 feet high, and cleared the hedge, too. Next-door didn’t give it back, either!’

He continued: ‘When we first met, Mollie didn’t know anything about cricket. But she has tried hard to pick things up.

‘For example, during one of the first Test matches I played when we were together, I received a text message from her saying: “Well done today. I thought X was the key wicket, and a real breakthrough for the team.”

‘She had copied it off the BBC Sport website’s live blog!’

And of the first match Mollie came to, at Lord’s, with her dad Steve.

He said: ‘ It was a bowling day for us, which meant we warmed up in our blue England training kit, then went off at 10.40 to prepare for the match itself.

‘That evening, she said to me: “I never realised you did that. I absolutely loved the costume change.”‘ I was like: “What do you mean?”

‘”Well,” she said. “You warm up in that lovely blue stuff and then you change into the white.”

‘I could see how her mind was working. When she was on stage with the Saturdays, they would perform a song, run off, change, and come back for a new number in different outfits. A case of two very different worlds colliding.’
