Big Brother star Zoe George reveals the housemates’ dramatic weight loss

They are forced to live on meagre rations and compete for extra food in challenges.

So it’s no wonder that contestants on the Big Brother reboot ended up dropping a few kilos during their time on the show.

Newly-evicted contestant Zoe George, 38, told Perth Now on Wednesday that some of her housemates lost so much weight their ‘bones stuck out’.

It just fell off! On Wednesday, Big Brother star Zoe George (left, when she entered the house) revealed she had lost four kilos in three weeks after living off ‘bland’ rations in the house. Pictured right following her elimination last week

‘Daniel [Gorringe] lost a huge amount. You could see his bones sticking out because he was already quite slim,’ Zoe said of the former AFL player.

Big Brother told the housemates on the first night that they would be provided with ‘bland’ rations, including flour, milk, eggs, butter, potatoes and olive oil.

The meagre rations meant that Zoe also lost weight during her three-week stay in the house.

‘I did end up losing 4kg, we had no snacks, no chips and chocolate,’ Zoe said.

Despite being voted off the show this week and missing out on the $250,000 cash prize, the weight loss has been the icing on the cake for the mother-of-two – who has undergone a stunning body transformation in the past few years.

Before appearing on the show, Zoe spoke candidly about her weight loss journey on her blog, The Subtle Mummy, after getting back into shape.

Zoe – who is mother to six-year-old son Ari and four-year-old daughter Ambrosia – wrote in 2019: ‘Unfortunately I was never blessed with the skinny gene (if that’s even a real thing), heck up until last year all my jeans were skinny jeans regardless of the style.’

Desperate to fit into her size 10 jeans again, Zoe splashed out on a three-month program of Hypoxi – a low-impact exercise machine that uses vacuum technology to speed up weight loss.

At the time, she also began cutting out sugar and improving her diet.

In addition to Hypoxi, Zoe hired an exercise physiologist to give her a ‘physical kick up the butt’.

‘I loved loved loved being active again. I struggled with gyms before this as I lacked motivation to go and there was no one pushing me,’ she explained.

As the weight began dropping off, the brunette decided to finally join a gym.

‘I loved doing classes – kickboxing, Muay Thai, Yoga, Zumba, you name it. I got to 78 kilos and I was feeling strong and fit,’ she said.

In mid-2018, Zoe signed up as an ambassador for Cambridge Weight Plan, a diet service that offers a range of bars, soups and shakes.

When she discovered her weight loss was plateauing at 73kg, Zoe decided to kick things into action by joining a Pilates studio in early 2019.

Despite the number on the scale, Zoe had finally reached her goal of fitting into a pair of size 10 jeans and was therefore happy with her progress.

‘I’m not sure if I’ll ever be in the 60s again and maybe I am curvy but as long as I’m HAPPY when I look in the mirror and I’m STRONG and HEALTHY, then that’s all that matters,’ she declared.

While Zoe didn’t share exactly how many kilos she had lost since 2017, a series of before-and-after photos clearly demonstrate her weight loss.
