RHOC’s Kelly Dodd defends herself as a ‘woman of color’ after controversial video resurfaces: ‘I’ve experienced racism personally’

Kelly Dodd has found herself to be the latest Bravo personality in hot water, after four Vanderpump Rules stars recnetly fired.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star has recently been called out after a video from 2016 of her making racist remarks has resurfaced.

She defended herself Saturday on Instagram as a ‘woman of color’ after some of her 754,000 followers brought up her behavior in the controversial video.

The 44-year-old answered a commenter who wrote: ‘But like, do you truly believe that bc “you’re Mexican you can’t be racist”?’

She wrote in response: ‘I’ve experienced racism personally.. I’m a woman of color and love everyone !’

It comes after a TMZ video from 2016 resurfaced, in which she said she didn’t ‘like’ or ‘know any Black guys.’

She later told TMZ: ‘I am truly embarrassed. There is no excuse for bad behavior or comments that offend anyone. That video does not represent who I really am and I apologize for acting irresponsibly.’

Former co-star Tamra Judge responded last week to a follower who asked during an Instagram Q&A if Kelly should be fired over the comments.

She responded: ‘Yes I do, that TMZ video is disgusting! Bravo shouldn’t just single certain people out like Stassi [Schroeder] & Kristen [Doute]. There should be zero tolerance at this point.’

Kelly later wrote on Instagram in regards to Tamra: ‘She’s just thirsty and mad she got the bullet .. grasping for straws poor thing .. I hope she finds happiness.’

Tamra revealed back in January that she was leaving the reality show after 12 years, shortly after Vicki Gunvalson revealed her departure.
