Man, 47, is charged with making a weapon and explosives after police raided house and neighbouring properties had to be evacuated

A man has been charged after he was caught by police making a weapon and explosives in his home. 

Officers found Pascal Knorr-Gulde, 47, making the devices during a raid of his home in Southampton, Hampshire.

Neighbouring homes on Bond Road were evacuated following the discovery and the entire area was searched as a precaution

A man has been charged with manufacturing a weapon, device or ammunition and making of/possession of explosive under suspicious circumstances in Southampton. Pascal Knorr-Gulde was caught by police with the neighbouring houses evacuated after the discovery

Mr Knorr-Gulde was charged with manufacturing a weapon, device or ammunition and making of/possession of explosive under suspicious circumstances. 

He has been remanded to custody and will appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 22).

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘The explosive ordnance disposal team assisted a search of the property and two neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution.

‘The people that were evacuated have since returned home and the area has been made safe.

‘We do not believe there is any wider risk to public at this time.’

A 40-year-old has also been interrogated by police and was released on bail until July 17.
