NeNe Leakes laughs off rumors she has been fired from Real Housewives Of Atlanta: ‘I can’t chileeee’

NeNe Leakes has laughed off rumors that she had been fired from The Real Housewives Of Atlanta ahead of season 13.

The 52-year-old – who has starred on the Bravo reality series since season 1 – took to Instagram to share the now iconic image of herself cackling on Wednesday night.

As she seemed to be alluding to the gossip that she had been let go from the show, she captioned the snap: ‘I can’t chileeeeeeee.’

NeNe didn’t stop there as she also took to Instagram to share six crying while laughing emojis.

Earlier in the day there was an online report that claimed she had not received an offer letter for season 13 after other cast members had received theirs from Bravo.

However there have since been other reports which have refuted that claim. 

Leakes’ manager Steven Grossman hoped to set the record straight as he gave a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday which said:  ‘It is absolutely not true that NeNe has been fired from RHOA. Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be.  

‘We are having ongoing bigger picture conversations with NBCUniversal and have not made any decisions regarding next season specifically. Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate. Bloop.’

She has starred on every season of the series since it began in 2008 other than the ninth which aired from 2016 to 2017.

There have been rumors of Leakes’ possible departure for weeks as last month the second part of the three-part reunion finale ended with her abruptly leaving the show, which was seen as a hint that she’s leaving the show for good.

While Leakes didn’t say specifically she was leaving the show, a preview for the third and final part of the reunion finale seemed to indicate Leakes wasn’t returning for the rest of  the reunion, which aired Sunday, May 24 at 8 PM ET on Bravo.

Leakes even told People before the airing of the reunion that she’s still undecided on returning for RHOA’s 13th season, stating, ‘I go back and forth with it every day. I feel like it’s a big conversation I need to have with the network and with production.

 Leakes walked off towards the end of the episode, where a video package was playing featuring Cynthia Bailey and other housewives, but Leakes simply couldn’t watch, saying her castmates were, ‘a bunch of haters.’

‘What would they do if I wasn’t even here? Who would they talk to?’ Leakes says, before eventually leaving, though the rest of the cast was unaware that she left.

When Cynthia said that she didn’t consider Nene, ‘a toxic friend,’ they all realized she had left, with Eva Marcille – who announced this week that she was leaving the show – quick to comment.
