Love Island’s Joanna Chimonides says she feels ‘fab’ after putting on a STONE since leaving the reality show

Joanna Chimonides revealed she has put on a stone since leaving Love Island in 2019, and says she feels ‘fab’ after gaining the weight.

Speaking candidly on FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas on Thursday, the reality star, 22, said she enjoyed having ‘a bit more shape’ to her enviable figure and explained that she is now eight stone.

The brunette beauty explained: ‘Since Love Island I’ve put on a stone! Which is fab because I wanted to put on weight and I’ve actually weighed myself and I’ve put on a stone. I was like, “this is brilliant!”‘

Saying she wanted to ‘just be a little bit bigger’, she went on: ‘In Love Island I was very, very slim and people still think I’m slim now but I can see a difference in my body now.’

During her time in the villa, Joanna had a brief fling with Michael Griffiths, however, upon leaving the show the pair soon parted ways.

Joanna also discussed her shock over the BAFTA Television Awards nominating Michael’s post-Casa Amor recoupling with her on last summer’s edition of the ITV2 reality show in the public voted Must See Moment category.

‘This is huge! I’m just in shock. What do you do?!’ she said of her reaction. ‘The fact of the matter is, the one year in my whole life that I’ll ever be shown in a BAFTA nominee video, there is no BAFTA red carpet! I am fuming!

‘I hope it does win but we’re up against Game of Thrones… and there has been some intense moments. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole of Game of Thrones!

‘If we do win that’ll be absolutely fantastic but if we don’t, I mean Game of Thrones and everything!’

Shock: Lamenting the coronavirus crisis impacting the awards, Joanna added: 'the one year in my whole life that I'll ever be shown in a BAFTA nominee video, there is no BAFTA red carpet!'

The conclusion to last year’s Gavin and Stacey Christmas special, in which Ruth Jones’ character Nessa proposed to James Corden’s alter-ego Smithy, is also among the contenders in the shortlist, which is voted for by the British public.

While Line Of Duty’s shock killing of undercover police officer John Corbett, played by Stephen Graham, and the scene where Arya Stark kills the Night King in the final season of Game Of Thrones have also been shortlisted.

The sad passing of Coronation Street character Sinead Osbourne – portrayed by Katie McGlynn – from cervical cancer also received a nod.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag completes the shortlist, for the scene where her titular character visits the hot priest in his church, which ends up being a catalyst in their relationship.
