Georgia Tennant has slammed Facebook for removing a photo of her breastfeeding her eight-month-old daughter Birdie.

The actress, 35, took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to shame the social network for sexualising’ the image.

Georgia, the wife of wife of Doctor Who star David Tennant, called out Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg in the irate post as she shared the black and white shot.

She said: ‘Facebook just removed this photo because it violated their policy on sexual images. 

‘Sort your s*** out @Zuck or I’ll come round there and squirt you in the eye.

‘#Breastfeeding #ifyouthinkthisissexualitmaybeyouthatistheissue.’

Facebook’s policy states that most breastfeeding photos should be allowed if they do not show the mother’s nipple.

It says on the site: ‘We agree that breastfeeding is natural and beautiful and we’re glad to know that it’s important for mothers to share their experiences with others on Facebook. 

‘The vast majority of these photos are compliant with our policies.’

Georgia’s post comes after she starred alongside her husband in BBC’s lockdown drama Staged, with Michael Sheen.

And Doctor Who fans were delighted when they spotted a mini TARDIS in the Tennants’ back garden during the show.

The couple filmed the segment from his home and in the first episode last week, David was seen on chatting on the phone, with the time machine clearly visible in the background.

The star became a household name after portraying the 10th Doctor in the iconic sci-fi series between 2005 and 2010, while his wife Georgia’s dad Peter Davison took on the role of the titular Time Lord between 1981 and 1984. 

Also starring his Good Omens co-star Michael Sheen and his wife Georgia, the show sees David and the cast portray a group of actors who are persuaded to rehearse a play they were meant to perform before lockdown over Zoom instead.

Written and directed by Simon Evans, the show also features Lucy Eaton and Anna Lundberg, while Nina Sosanya is a guest star.

As well as starring in the lead roles David and Michael are acting as executive producers for the series, and the show’s first episode aired on Wednesday while the next five episodes have been released on BBC iPlayer.

Georgia’s dad Peter Davison took on the role of the titular Time Lord between 1981 and 1984. 

David and Peter appeared on screen together as the fifth and tenth incarnations of the time-travelling alien in the 2007 mini-episode Time Crash, which aired as part of Children In Need. 

The pair wed in 2011 and share children Olive, nine, Wilfred, seven, and Doris, five, and Birdie.

David adopted Georgia’s 18-year-old son Ty when they married.
