Princess Madeleine of Sweden has shared a sweet tribute to her son Nicolas to mark his fifth birthday.
The mother-of-three, 38, posted a new official portrait of the youngster to her official Instagram account yesterday with a touching message.
She wrote in the caption: ‘Happy Birthday to the most kindhearted brother and sweetest son! We love you!’
In the picture, Nicolas, also known as the Duke of Ångermanland, is seen smiling cutely at the camera, while wearing a formal white shirt.
Madeleine has been spending lockdown at her home in Miami, Florida, with her husband Christopher O’Neill and children Leonore, six, Nicolas, five, and Adrienne, two.

Looking directly at the camera with startling blue eyes, Nicolas is seen posing in a garden for his birthday portrait.
The young prince, who is ninth in the line of succession to the Swedish throne, bears a striking resemblance to his father Chris O’Neill in the new photograph.
It’s birthday season for the Swedish royals, with Princess Madeleine having turned 38 on June 10 and also releasing an image of herself to mark the occasion.
The royal looked the epitome of elegance in a floral shirt dress with a trendy pope collar and puff sleeves in the new snap.

Posing against a backdrop of blooming bougainvillea in a tropical garden, the Palace shared the image on Instagram earlier this month.
The mother-of-three wore her shiny blonde locks in a side parting and beamed at the camera in the relaxed portrait, showcasing the start of a summer tan.
It is not known when the photograph was taken, although it appears to have been shot during lockdown.
The birthday portrait comes days after the royal shared another snap posing in the garden of her home alongside her three children.

In the earlier shot, she could be seen cuddling up with her daughter Adrienne while the family held Swedish flags to mark the country’s national day.
While her youngest daughter snugged into her mother’s arms, Princess Madeleine’s other children Leonore and Nicolas could be seen beaming while dressed in colour-coordinated outfits for the snap.
The family have been spending this period of lockdown at home in Miami, where the royal has lived since 2018.
Princess Madeleine last appeared in public in December last year, when she joined her family to host the Nobel prize winners for a lavish four-course banquet at Stockholm’s Royal Palace.
