Australian Survivor’s Lee Carseldine reveals he’s found love again after heartbreaking year during which he split from longtime girlfriend El Rowland and lost his mother

Cricketer Lee Carseldine has revealed that he’s found love again after a heartbreaking 2019. 

Last year, the Australian Survivor star split from longtime girlfriend Elena ‘El’ Rowland and suffered the death of his mother. 

On Tuesday, the 44-year-old the Courier Mail that he’s fallen for a paediatric and neonatal nurse named Sanchia.

He told the paper: ‘We met through Fitstop, which I do some brand ambassador work for.   

‘It’s a relief getting it out there. Not much to say apart from the fact she is an amazing, caring woman and spending time with her is so comfortable and easy.’

The pair recently went public on Instagram, with Lee sharing a photo of the pair together on the beach. 

He wrote in the caption: ‘The last 18 months have been a bit rough but all is starting to come good.’

In December, Lee shared a lengthy Instagram post in which he spoke candidly about the heartbreaks and hardships of the past year.

He wrote: ‘I’m normally a very optimistic person and take bad news well but this year took all the wind out of my lungs and left me clambering for oxygen.

‘A long term broken relationship that went public, a badly infected leg which nearly turned sepsis, a right knee meniscus tear, a shoulder tendon torn off the bone and a couple of cancelled TV presenting gigs which I loved dearly,’ he explained.

The long-term relationship he was referring to was with El Rowland, who he met during season one of Australian Survivor in Samoa in 2016.  

El announced their split via Instagram back in February revealing the relationship had become a ‘roller coaster’ and that they were ‘no longer a couple in any way shape or form’. 

Lee also has two sons, Jake, 14, and Sam, 12, with his former wife, Tanya.

In his final Instagram post for 2019, Lee wrote about the devastating loss of his mother, Elizabeth, to Motor Neurone Disease in September.

He said: ‘I thought I had suffered grief before but this was a level I had never experienced. My relationship with my mum was close…real close.’

Lee said he ‘will make sure that her legacy of making a difference to individuals will carry on through our family’.
