Pip Edwards talks candidly about ‘being alone at 40’ as she covers Gritty Pretty

Fashion designer Pip Edwards reveals she is ‘alone at 40’ as she confronts her past relationships in a painfully raw interview with Gritty Pretty

She split from Australian cricketer Michael Clarke in April after a brief fling.

And now fashion designer Pip Edwards has reflected on ‘being alone at 40’ in a raw interview with Gritty Pretty magazine.

In conversation with supermodel Elle Macpherson, the mother-of-one said she had always feared being alone, and found herself doing some soul searching several weeks ago when she celebrated her milestone birthday in self-isolation.

‘I think one of my greatest fears since forever was being alone,’ Pip said.

She was quick to clarify, however, that she was only alone in a romantic sense because she does live with her 12-year-old son, Justice.

The P.E Nation also added that she was ‘really happy to be alone’, which she had never expected to be able to say to herself.

Pip added that she’d reflected on her life so far when she turned 40 in April.

‘I spent some time going through the career changes, the many men, the trials and tribulations of life… I really sat with myself and I’d probably never done that in 40 years,’ she said.

The candid interview with Gritty Pretty was accompanied by a stunning photo shoot.

On the cover, she posed in a beige jumper while gazing away from the camera. For the inside shots, she modelled a variety of designer outfits.

Pip is believed to have split from retired cricketer Michael Clarke, 39, about two months ago.

The pair were said to have dated for several months after Michael’s split from his wife, Kyly, last year.

The Clarkes ended things in September, but didn’t confirm their break-up until February 12.

When news of Michael and Pip’s relationship surfaced, they both denied they were anything more than friends.

They told Daily Mail Australia in February they had been friends for 12 years and were simply working on a project together.

Pip also insisted the rumours were ‘absolutely unfounded and untrue’.

Despite their denials, it’s understood they were an item. They reportedly ended things in April because Michael couldn’t handle the publicity that came with dating the activewear designer.
