Bachelor star reveals she was asked  to be Blake Lively’s stunt double in The Shallows

She is known for her brief appearance on Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins’ season of The Bachelor in 2018. 

But Bondi lifeguard Juliana King claims she could have been far more famous if she’d taken on the role of a lifetime in 2014. 

Speaking to Stellar magazine, the dating show reject revealed she was asked to play Blake Lively’s body double in her movie The Shallows six years ago, but had to turn down the role.   

‘Unfortunately, I was recovering from an Achilles surgery and mid-recovery i slipped, falling again on my Achilles and this time completely tore it off the bone,’ she said. 

‘I ended up needing a full reconstruction and had to decline the job, which was devastating,’ Juliana added.  

Instead, the role was given to Gold Coast life saver and Olympic swimming trialist Sarah Friend. 

Speaking to the Gold Coast Bulletin in 2016, Sarah said she felt lucky to work with Gossip Girl star Blake. 

‘I’m so lucky because I got to act out Blake’s scenes, get direction and then I would see how she did it on the monitor. She’s an amazing actor,’ she enthused.  

The Shallows was a psychological thriller about a surfing trip that goes terribly wrong with the protagonist Nancy (played by Blake) is attacked by a shark. 

The movie was filmed in various locations around Australia, including Lord Howe Island.    

Since her brief stint on The Bachelor, Juliana has continued to work as the only female on the Bondi Rescue team. 

When she’s not patrolling the beach, Juliana teaches high school PE and works as a personal trainer.
