Media personality Deborah Hutton has revealed that she’s recovering well after having had surgery to remove two skin cancers from her face.
On Thursday, the 58-year-old bravely posted a selfie of herself on Instagram showing her scars on her chin and cheek.
Deborah said that she is ‘healing well’ and urged her followers to get their skin checked regularly.

‘I’m healing well. This is a shout out to all the beautiful people who have responded so positively to my original post on my skin cancer surgery,’ Deborah captioned the image.
‘Thank you so much for your support and the stories you’ve shared of similar experiences. It’s overwhelming reading about the damage caused from over exposure to the sun.’
She then urged others to get their skin checked.

Deborah received well wishes from fans and her celebrity friends underneath the post.
‘Even more beautiful because now we can see your strength, bravery and determination,’ Melissa Doyle wrote.
Tina Arena added: ‘So happy you’re doing well darling! Beautiful, beautiful photo of you xx.’
Natalie Imbruglia and Catriona Rowntree also sent their well wishes on the post.

‘I have ummed and aahhed about posting this, but after having the stitches out from another major surgery to remove two skin cancers, and being extremely grateful they’ve got it all, I feel it’s only right to remind you to get your skin checked!’ she wrote in the caption.
‘Please. Early detection is everything! Don’t delay,’ she added.
Deborah, who is a Skin Cancer Foundation ambassador, said there was nothing visible around her nose area and that it was her dermatologist who first noticed the abnormality.

The former Australian Women’s Weekly editor explained: ‘My skin will heal and in the coming months you’ll hardly see the scar. I’ve been here before nine years ago.
‘Skin heals beautifully, but only if you give it the chance before it’s too late. I’m extremely grateful to my surgeon and the nurses who looked after me, huge thanks.’
In June 2011, Deborah was diagnosed with her second bout of skin cancer – an infiltrating basal cell carcinoma on her upper lip – and had surgery to remove it.

After the surgery, she told The Herald Sun: ‘I was yellow and bruised and my lips were swollen and half my mouth wasn’t working.
‘But I felt so lucky that I not only still had my lips and nose, but that they were still in the same place.’
Deborah told Mamamia in 2016: ‘I had my first instance with skin cancer 15 to 20 years ago on my chest.’
‘You just know when something doesn’t feel right when you have awareness of skin, the spots and marks. If something’s not right, an alarm goes off,’ she added.
