PizzaExpress is opening 13 London restaurants for click-and-collect customers today following a successful delivery-only trial.

The popular chain is reopening its branches in phases as it seeks to adapt to new measures designed to limit coronavirus transmission.

It will operate with social distancing, protective screens and limited menus as the Covid pandemic continues.

Today the company announced that it will open 13 London restaurants for collection service.

Customers will be able to pick up pizzas from Abbeville Road, Balham, Belsize Park, Camden, Chiswick, George Street Croydon, Dulwich, Ealing, Fulham Road and Greenwich branches.

They will also be able to collect food from the restaurants at Notting Hill Gate, Shepherds Bush and Trinity Road Wandsworth.

Zoe Bowley, Managing Director at PizzaExpress said: ‘Our number one priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of our teams and customers.

‘Having undertaken a successful delivery-only trial in 13 of our restaurants, we’re pleased to be rolling this out further to click-and-collect customers in the same 13 restaurants only for the time being.

‘We know that people have missed the taste of our freshly handmade pizzas and by launching the next stage of our trial, we hope to gradually and safely begin to bring the PizzaExpress experience back to the UK.’

The company first opened in Soho, central London, in 1965 and now operates 600 restaurants globally.
