‘What’s wrong with Tessa? Anyone feel that her heart isn’t in it like last time? She’s just not performing as well as she did and she doesn’t really ever look that happy. I’m wondering if she feels inferior to the others as she just came out of the last [season],’ one person wrote on Facebook.

‘She never seems to be happy,’ another person said. ‘She does not seem to be confident within herself,’ one person commented.

Another wrote: ‘I’ve noticed a massive difference with her this year. Maybe she’s dealing with personal stuff. She seems sad faced all the time.’

‘I agree, she does look like she’s lost her mojo at times and you can actually see the frustration in her face when she receives feedback from the judges..agree she could be over it,’ one person said.

‘I feel that she has become overwhelmed with the competition. Last year she had confidence until the very end and only just missed out. She’s against some pretty good cooks now,’ another commented.

One wrote: ‘I really like Tessa. Last season the judges were lovely to her not this time. Possibly editing but I am concerned for her.’

Fans of Channel Ten’s ratings juggernaut weren’t very forgiving when they had to listen to this year’s Top 10 contestants shout for 35 minutes – and they vented on social media accordingly.

‘Paracetamol should be at every bench today,’ tweeted one fan.

‘Eugh. I hate these shouty challenges,’ commented another, before a third quipped: ‘Has anyone got subtitles on? I wonder if it’s all on capital letters to indicate the shouting?’
