  • The singer, 41, was left with nasty cuts and bruises to her head and arms after falling from her bicycle during a ride along the Thames on Tuesday evening  
  • Taking to Instagram, Sophie admitted she could only share an image of her injuries in black and white because they were too graphic 
  • The mother-of-five thanked NHS staff for putting her back together after receiving for the treatment following the accident 
  • Sophie has been isolating with husband Richard Jones and their five sons, Sonny, 16, Kit, 11, Ray, eight, Jesse, four, and Mickey, 17 months

Sophie Ellis-Bextor displayed cuts and bruises to her arms and head as she was seen for the first time since being rushed to hospital following a ‘gory’ cycling accident last week.

The singer, 41, had a painful-looking gash on her forehead, a bandaged left elbow and facial bruising as she ran errands near her west London home on Sunday.

The Murder On The Dancefloor hitmaker appeared to be holding the back of her neck and looked as though she was in a little discomfort as she picked up groceries for her family.

Sophie was wearing a casual outfit of denim dungarees, teamed with a striped Santa Cruz T-shirt and red and white trainers.

The mother-of-five’s outing comes after the star revealed her horrifying accident which saw her end up in A&E after falling off her bike while on an evening cycle along the Thames last Tuesday evening.

The singer posted a harrowing picture on Wednesday showing her lying in a hospital bed with cuts on her arm and a bandage on her head.   

Sophie has since uploaded a picture of a bouquet of flowers alongside a lengthy caption explaining how she is doing after the accident.

She wrote: ‘Hello all. Just to let you know I’m doing ok. I’ve been so well looked after at home and am currently laid up on a sofa surrounded by my three smallest boys. 

‘I’ve got some impressive bruises and a swollen and newly glued forehead which I’m completely fascinated by.   

‘If I hurt myself, I’m always satisfied by a spectacular healing process and my puffy face has not disappointed.

‘As it happens I’ve been feeling so incredibly lucky to have not broken anything and to be fortunate enough to have so much support Xxxx hope you’re doing ok on what would have usually been our date night for the last couple of months. 

‘Have a boogie for me. I’ll be dancing with you again in no time X.’
