Mother-of-two, 29, shares a look at the Sunday ‘house reset’ she swears by for a streamlined week

An organised Australian mother-of-two has revealed her weekly Sunday ‘house reset’ routine to ensure her family home is clean and ready for the following week.

Steph Pase, 29, uploaded a vlog to her YouTube channel explaining all the tasks involved, including changing all bed sheets, meal planning, meal prepping, buying the groceries, washing the bath mats and cleaning out the fridge.

‘This is my Sunday routine and how I reset our home, meals and schedules ready for the week ahead! Cleaning, meal planning and prepping and getting organised!’ Steph said.

Steph said she’s been doing the house reset since her first daughter, Harper, was born four years ago and says it makes life ‘so much easier’ as everything is planned out for the week.

In the video, Steph starts by changing the bed sheets and remaking each bed with fresh sheets and pillowcases.

She also washes any dirty towels and blankets that need to be cleaned.

'Meal planning is really important because it helps you save money [as] you'll know exactly what groceries you need to buy,' she said

Every Sunday Steph meal plans by preparing what she’s going to cook for the family during the week.

‘Meal planning is really important because it helps you save money [as] you’ll know exactly what groceries you need to buy,’ she said.

Steph uses a magnetic whiteboard located on the fridge to display and plan the assortment of dishes for the week ahead, and will allocate a night for a takeaway meal and leftovers.

Her shopping list is then determined by the meals she is planning to cook each night, which makes budgeting a lot easier.

On the fridge is also a magnetic monthly calendar and a ‘don’t forget’ list to use for bills, appointments and other events that cannot be forgotten about.

In addition to the Sunday reset, Steph also makes use of to-do lists each day to help her keep track of everything she had to complete without feeling overwhelmed.

‘One reason why I love to-do lists is because I don’t have to concentrate on keeping everything in my head – so I just write it down,’ she said, adding she also enjoys the satisfaction of ticking tasks off the list.

Her grocery shopping list is then determined by the meal plan list and what she’s going to be cooking.

The list itself is sub-categorised based on where products are at the shop, such as meats, vegetables and fruit, snacks, breads and oils.

After purchasing the groceries, Steph chops up vegetables to eat as snacks or to use later in the week when cooking meals.

On busy days, Steph plans ahead and uses her Kmart slow cooker to prepare dinner ahead of time.

The Sunday reset of cleaning and planning often takes until midday followed by the grocery shop and meal prepping, which could take a further hour or two.

But Steph said the routine is worthwhile as it makes her feel ‘in control’ of her busy schedule as a mum, and she saves time later in the week which is spent with her family.

Steph’s slow cooked pulled pork recipe

Ingredients:

Pork Shoulder

1 Cup Beef Stock (alternatively Vegetable or Chicken work fine too)

1/4 Cup Olive Oil

1 jar Passata Sauce

2 Cloves of crushed Garlic (or Garlic Powder)

2-3 teaspoons Mixed Herbs

2 teaspoon Parsley (fresh or packet)

1/4 Chopped Onion (optional)

Method:

Firstly cut off the layer of fat from the pork (if you wish to make crackling keep it and make prior to serving, or discard)

Place pork shoulder in the slow cooker

In a bowl mix together; Stock, Olive Oil, Passata Sauce, garlic, mixed herbs, parsley and onion (literally everything!).

Pour over the Pork shoulder

Put slow cooker on LOW for 7-9 hours (depending on the size of the pork)

Once finished use two forks to pull apart (if you wish to make it a bit more crisp, pop on a tray in the oven for 10 minutes on 180).

Then make into tacos, burgers, wraps or anything you wish!
