Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field rules out any reality TV shows in the foreseeable future

Robbie Williams’ wife Ayda Field has ruled out any reality TV shows focusing on their family in the foreseeable future in order to protect their four children.

The couple have Theodora, seven, Charlton, five, Colette, 19 months, and Beau, who was born via surrogate in February.

Ayda has shared that she wants to ‘protect’ their four children and that it would be ‘unfair’ to throw them into the spotlight. The couple have never shared a photo of their children’s faces to social media.

However, the star admitted that she would ‘never say never’ after various offers but insisted that it is ‘not on the deck’ just yet. 

Talking to The Sun, she said: ‘I would never say never to it and it’s been brought up to us before. But right now our privacy and protecting the kids is important to us. So it’s not on the deck yet. 

‘The kids are not even old enough to know what the ramifications of that might be. It would be unfair to make that choice for them and there’s a lot of adult things that come with exposure.

‘You have to take all that on, the good and the bad. I don’t want to put them in that position.’

It comes after Robbie revealed to The Sun in 2018 that he was planning his own reality series with his wife, Ayda, and his mother-in-law Gwen. 

The star shared that if plans went ahead, the trio would star in a fly-on-the-wall series after going viral several times over their hilarious past social media updates.

He told The Sun: ‘There’s something in the making. There’s a format there, it’s just making sure it’s the right one and the right show.

‘Trust me, it will happen — that’s a show I want to watch on TV.’

While a source added to the publication: ‘Plans are currently in place to make sure the show gets picked up by the right channel.’ 

Last week, Ayda emotionally revealed that her mother Gwen is currently battling stage two cervical cancer.

The star told how her mother, 70, is going into hospital on a daily basis for treatment due to the aggressive nature of the cancer.    

Speaking on her At Home with The Williamses podcast, Ayda, admitted she is worried her mother, who is battling Parkinson’s disease and lupus, could pick up Covid-19 in the hospital. 

She said: ‘My mum in January was diagnosed with stage two cervical cancer and it had spread outside the cervix and was a very aggressive tumour.

‘So alongside her Parkinson’s and her Lupus was this cancer battle and because the cancer was so big they decided that she needed to immediately go into chemo and radiation daily and have surgery.

‘When the pandemic hit it was very scary because my mum with Lupus and Parkinson’s and cancer, at 70 years old is prime for some bad things happening.

‘So she was going to the hospital every day for these treatments and I just remember every day thinking “Is she going to pick something up? Is this where it all ends?”‘

It is a difficult time for Ayda and Robbie, 46, as he recently revealed that his father has Parkinson’s disease and also confirmed Ayda’s mother had a ‘big illness’.

Speaking to The Mirror, he said: ‘We’ve got a lot of family issues right now. My dad has got Parkinson’s, my mother-in-law who I love dearly has got a very big illness. We can’t get to them. My dad is thousands of miles away.’

Robbie added: ‘My mum is just a year short of 80 and she’s in isolation and I can see the things whirling in her mind and her eyes going.’

The hitmaker said that difficult times cause ‘fear and panic’ and said recent issues made him worry he could suffer from depression and drink and drug problems like in the past.

He said: ‘I noticed at the start of the lockdown that I was going into fear. But the difference between me now and the person I used to be… I saw it, thought “That’s interesting – tomorrow will be different”. And it was.’
