Jake Gyllenhaal wears a mask while grabbing dinner to-go with his model girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu

With protests erupting across Los Angeles and COVID-19 still in full swing, many citizens have chosen to board themselves up in their homes.

But Jake Gyllenhaal found a happy medium on Friday afternoon, when he decided to venture out of his Hollywood Hills home to grab dinner to-go with girlfriend Jeanne Cadieu, 24.

The 39-year-old Donnie Darko star put public health at the forefront by donning an N95 face mask inside and outside his luxurious Audi.      

The actor pulled a Michael Jackson move by sporting a single glove on his right hand, but instead of rhinestones and white fabric, he had to settle for blue latex.

Jake kept it casual for his gloomy errand run in a mustard toned sweater with the sleeves bunched up and a pair of well fitting grey trousers.

With barbershops and hair salons still deemed ‘nonessential,’ Gyllenhaal was forced to tie back his lengthy, brunette locks into a small ponytail.

He rounded out his look by rocking a pair of squeaky clean sneakers. 

Jake proved to be the perfect gentleman as he took on the responsibility of retrieving the food, while Jeanne remained in the passenger’s seat of his vehicle.

She looked effortlessly beautiful, while rocking a visibly makeup-free complexion and tying up her brunette hair into a bun. 

Once he collected their dinner, the Southpaw star returned to the driver’s seat and sped away in his sleek black Audi. 

The genetically bless pair have been happily dating since 2018.

In the May issue of British Vogue, Jake opened up about turning away from acting to focus on his personal life, including his family, friends and ‘love’.   

‘I’m interested in my life, even more so than my work. I’ve reached a point in my career where I feel hungry in a different way. I’ve seen how much of my life I’ve neglected as a result of being committed to that work and that idea.’

Jake added: ‘Seeing life as something that is, you know, fleeting, and the world being as it is now. I’ve turned to my family, I’ve turned to my friends and I’ve turned to love. I’m a little less interested in the work, I would say, and more interested in that.’

As the conversation turned to fathering children and he was asked if that’s something he sees for his future, Jake confessed: ‘Yes, of course I do. ‘I definitely do.’ 

In wake of the unjust killing of George Floyd, Gyllenhaal has been using his Instagram page to show his solidarity with Black Lives Matter protesters.

On #BlackOutTuesday – an Instagram trend meant to bring awareness to the movement – Jake wrote: ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER #blackouttuesday’

On Friday, the Zodiac actor posted a birthday tribute to Breonna Taylor – who lost her life at the hands of police earlier this year.

‘Today would have been Breonna Taylor’s 27th birthday. She was an EMT from Louisville, KY who was killed in her home in the middle of the night when police executed a drug raid at the wrong address,’ wrote Jake on his Instagram Story.

He added: ‘After two months, the FBI finally opened an investigation.’ 

Gyllenhaal then urged his 6.1million followers to sign a petition aimed to bring ‘Justice for Breonna.’
