Handy husband builds a kitchen garden complete with pizza oven and barbeque

A woman has revealed the incredible outdoor kitchen her husband built using reclaimed materials.

Kerry Lewis, from Lincolnshire, took to Facebook group Extreme Budget DIY & Life Hacks to share their ‘lockdown project’, complete with a pizza oven and barbecue.

The mother-of-one revealed it cost them just £150 – excluding the pizza oven and BBQ they already had – in materials, with her husband doing the handiwork during the pandemic.

The rustic wooden installation comes complete with a roof to shelter its units, two cupboards, shelves, generous surface space and a barbecue to the centre.

Adorned with signs, and with a pizza oven to the side of it, the al fresco diner makes the perfect entertainment area during lockdown.

Posting a picture of the built, Kerry wrote:  ‘My husbands little lockdown project for our garden .. made from recycled steel and reclaimed wood.

She added: ‘All wood treated with wood preserver and roof shingles added.. total cost excluding bbq and pizza oven .. around £150 pleased with the result’.

It seems garden projects have been all the rage during lockdown, with a thrifty mum sharing her  stunning outdoor bed this week – built for just £70.

UK-based Tanya Woolston used old pallets, £70 in wood and material she already had lying around the house to create the private oasis in her mother’s back garden.

The four-poster bed boasts a mattress and pillows covered with waterproof fabric – meaning they can be left outside.

Writing on the group, Tanya explained the base was made from eight wooden pallets that she was given for free by her mother, who runs a manufacturing business.

She also already had the lights, grey wood stain, mattress and pillow, as well as the waterproof fabric and 10m of white cotton that forms the canopy.

However she explained similar products could be found on eBay and pallets could be obtained from a local garden centre, business or through Facebook Marketplace.

It meant Tanya just needed to spend £70 on additional fence posts and planks to create the pillars and crossbeams on the design.
