Halsey helps out an injured demonstrator during protests in Downtown Los Angeles

Halsey continued to support ongoing protests against racial injustice and police brutality in Downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.

The Without Me singer, 25, did her part by carrying around a backpack full of medical supplies.

At one point she was seen helping out a demonstrator by giving him an ice-pack to soothe an injury on his head.

Halsey made sure to keep comfortable for her day on her feet, seen rocking loose black pants and New Balance sneakers.

The singer swept her hair out of her face with a yellow bandanna and went makeup free. Her backpack was emblazoned with a red cross to signal she was carrying medical supplies.

At the protest Halsey joined forces with a small group of friends, who all wore masks in order to keep themselves and others safe from coronavirus.

The New Jersey native has been dedicated to the demonstrations, seen protesting several times this part week.

She’s also been actively educating people online.

Yesterday the biracial star used her platform to talk about her privilege as a ‘white-passing’ person after she was criticized by a Twitter troll who accused her of not embracing her blackness enough.

‘Notice how @Halsey never claims her black side, but she ‘supports.’ Stop being ignorant. She’s never claimed her Black side. This is why I will NEVER support her. On her post she says ‘let black ppl speak,’ not ‘let our ppl speak.’ Nah, f**k her,’ the critic wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

The Grammy winner replied with an explanation, writing: ‘im white passing. it’s not my place to say ‘we.’ it’s my place to help. i am in pain for my family, but nobody is gonna kill me based on my skin color.’

Halsey’s fans also defended her, as she has long spoken about the struggles of having a white mother and a black father.

‘I look like a white girl, but I don’t feel like one. I’m a black woman,’ she told Playboy in 2017. ‘It’s been weird navigating that.’

Making light of her struggle, she joked, ‘When I was growing up, I didn’t know if I was supposed to love TLC or Britney.’

On Monday, she reported from the scene of protests in Los Angeles and shared footage of a throng of police officers firing tear gas at seemingly peaceful protestors.

In an impassioned Instagram caption, she urged her fellow Americans to care about the protests, calling them ‘everyone’s problem.

‘It’s become very clear to me that some of you need to see what I’ve seen,’ she began.

‘These pictures and videos don’t even scratch the surface. It’s easy from the comfort of your home to watch looting and rioting on television and condone the violent measures being taken by forces. But what you don’t see is innocent peaceful protestors being shot at and tear gassed and physically assaulted relentlessly,’ she continued.

‘You think it’s not happening, it’s only the “thugs” and the “riots”, right? The police are keeping you safe right? You’re wrong. This is happening everywhere.’

Halsey said those ‘exercising their rights to speech and assembly’ were being target, and that there weren’t enough medical professionals to help them due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

‘I have first hand treated men women and children who have been shot in the chest, the face, the back. Some will lose vision some have lost fingers. I have been covered in innocent blood.

‘This week I had to put those two associations together in ways that have horrified me. This is NOT a virtue signaling post. But I HAVE to show you what I am witnessing with my own eyes,’ she said.

The Closer singer also lambasted President Donald Trump’s announcement on Monday that he would be mobilizing the military against citizens to quell the protests.

The national unrest began less than a week ago in Minneapolis when Floyd, a 46-year-old security guard, died after police officer Derek Chauvin – who has since been fired and charged in the incident – kneeled on the back of his neck (while he was handcuffed), rendering him unable to breathe in a horrifying incident that was caught on camera.

In the incident, arresting officers said Floyd matched the description of a forgery suspect, and subsequently resisted them when they took him into custody.

In an accompanying clip, Chauvin was seen pinning his knee into the back of Floyd’s neck as Floyd pleaded with him to relent.

Floyd later died in police custody in a nearby hospital and Chauvin faces charges of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
