Having turned 52 herself last week, Kylie Minogue re-focused the attention to her long-time friend Jason Donovan on Monday as he celebrated turning the same age.
Taking to Instagram, Kylie shared a series of snaps from their 40-year friendship, starting from their days as young lovers on Neighbours in the 1980s.
She captioned the snaps: ‘Happy birthday Jason!!! We go back such a long way now. What amazing times!

She shared a clip from Neighbours to Instagram Stories too, of Jason’s character Scott trying to get a kiss of his girlfriend Charlene, played by Kylie.
The snaps were all from their time on the long-running Australian soap, save for one more recent image of them performing together recently.
The pair are two of the most iconic characters from Neighbours, both leaving the show to pursue successful pop careers.

The pair also dated in real-life; and despite not lasting the course, they always remained close friends.
On Thursday, Kylie was given the star treatment as she turned 52.
The pop icon took to Instagram to share her gratitude with fans, thanking them for sending her their well wishes on her big day.
Sharing a black-and-white photo of herself with a glass of her Kylie branded rosé wine which she launched that day as she wrote: ‘Birthday DONE!!! I raise my glass to love and to all of you!!! Thank you once again for your birthday wishes.’

She went on to share a glimpse at her small slice of birthday cake that she enjoyed, and a amusing card that featured smiley-faced cocktails on the front.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic keeping many loved ones apart, the singer was still able to celebrate in style at her home in London on Thursday.

The In My Arms songstress was treated to a lavish bouquet of flowers delivered direct to her door, as well as a portrait commissioned by her boyfriend Paul Solomons.
Another friend made a fleeting visit, dropping a bottle of bubbly and balloons on the doorstep for the songstress.
Earlier in the day, Kylie took her fans on a trip down memory lane as she shared childhood snaps of herself.
The singer was also feeling nostalgic for some of her biggest hits as she took to Instagram Stories to share a video of herself dancing to Spinning Around.

The pair first laid eyes on each other when they were introduced through mutual friends in February 2018, and they then confirmed their romance in April.
Speaking of Paul, Kylie recently told The Mirror: ‘Who says you can’t be soppy and romantic later in life? Particularly when you find a good and true love.
‘I feel even more thankful and lucky that I have this in my life now… I’m really being taken care of.’

She added: ‘We’re learning about each other’s worlds, of course there’s a part of his profession that crosses over to mine. I really just don’t want to say too much. He’s a great, great guy. We’re just doing our thing’.
