An Australian woman has shared how she baked French Camembert cheese in an Aldi $49 air fryer to create a quick and tasty meal.

After posting an image of the oozy result to the Aldi Mums Facebook group – which has more than 123,000 members – the woman said the Camembert only took 20 minutes to cook.

‘Why go to the pub and pay $20 when you can buy a nice Camembert and air fry it at home – in an Aldi dish of course!’ she said online.

The woman baked the cheese in a ceramic dish and cooked it in her air fryer at 190 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.

In the comments she also revealed she shook the dish every five minutes to allow the Camembert to cook through evenly.

While some social media users part of the Facebook group shared their praised for the idea, others offered their friendly recommendations to make the dish better.

‘Brilliant! Dip some crackers into it with some deli olives on the side,’ one woman said.

‘Pop a couple of garlic cloves in some slits before baking. Yum,’ another added.

A third home cook said: ‘Try it with some cranberry sauce and toasted almonds, or honey and almonds.’

Multiple women also recommended purchasing the Aldi Crumbed Camembert with cranberry dipping sauce.

Customers around Australia also recently went wild over the Coles crumbed camembert wedges priced at $5 per 176 gram bag.

One customer shared a photo of the product along with a bag of halloumi chips to the Share Kmart Air Fryer Recipes Australia Facebook group, which quickly attracted more than 1,900 likes from other shoppers.

‘These are delicious! $5 a packet at Coles, I overcooked [mine] a bit so worked out best cooking 180 degrees – no preheat – seven minutes in a 3.2 litre [air fryer],’ he said.

Coles told Daily Mail Australia the product, as well as the halloumi chips, are not available on the website to order, but can be purchased in stores nationally – if stock hasn’t sold out.
