Spencer Matthews reveals he is more involved in wife Vogue Williams’s second pregnancy

Spencer Matthews said lockdown has made him ‘more involved’ with his wife Vogue Williams’ second pregnancy.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 31, is expecting a baby girl with the TV presenter, 34, in July and explained it’s ‘awesome to be around’ as the couple prepare for the latest addition to their ‘perfect family’.

Speaking during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning on Thursday, he said: ‘It’s awesome to be around her [Vogue] and help her with this pregnancy more than last time.

‘She’ll be rolling her eyes in the next room. She’s fine, she’s in the next room, I made sure she came… our perfect family.’

Presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes also asked about his new shaved head, to which Spencer said: ‘I cut my hair off, I’ve always wanted that look and feel, so now is a good time to do it.

‘I did it first on my own, so my far more talented wife had a crack at it, it looks alright.’

Vogue and Spencer already have son Theodore, 20 months, and have been married since June 2018.

Vogue recently spoke about their baby news on the Sheer Luxe podcast, saying: ‘I am so thrilled about the girl part. I thought I would only have boys. I am so delighted.

‘I haven’t wanted to ask people what it’s like having two children, I think it’s better to go in at the deep end and not know.’

Spencer was joined on This Morning by his former Made In Chelsea co-star and best pal, Jamie Laing, 31, to discuss the pair’s new podcast – Six Degrees From Jamie and Spencer.

Jamie said: ‘We’re stuck in lockdown as we kept speaking to each other, so we thought can we get through to anyone (a celebrity) in six calls or less.’

Spencer added: ‘We live in a world where everyone is linked through social media, we’re all closer than we want to be, so we started with comedians.

‘So in six phone calls, we try to get hold of Ricky Gervais, I’d like to get hold of Boris Johnson, Bill Gates, Elon Musk!

‘We both like shooting for the stars, we’re very competitive, but this celeb hunting is a team sport.’

Jamie then cut in to say: ‘It’s more the fact that we’ve been friends for 15 years, so it’s about reigniting that romance.’

The first episode of the Radio 1 podcast will be available through BBC Sounds on May 28 and further episodes will be available every Thursday.

In the early episodes, the pals will be trying to reach Ricky Gervais with the help of Jamie’s friend and fellow comedian, Charlie George.

Jamie said: ‘I’m so excited to share mine and Spencer’s Radio 1 podcast with everyone. It’s going to be hilarious and hopefully we actually find the celebrities we’re after.’

Spencer said: ‘I’m really pleased to be working with the BBC on my new podcast. Sadly they didn’t tell me I’d be doing it with Jamie but needs must.’
