EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer celebrates her 48th birthday surrounded by her husband and children

She’s been isolating with her husband Richard Merkell and three youngest children in their stunning Malibu home amid the coronavirus lockdown.

And Patsy Palmer was surrounded by her loved ones as she celebrated her 48th birthday in lockdown on Wednesday, with her family treating her to an assortment of baked goods.

The former EastEnders star then got the party started as she later enjoyed a fun-filled DJ session which saw her dancing around her living room.

Patsy, who played Bianca Jackson in the BBC soap, moved to the States in 2014 with husband of 20 years Richard, 55 and her three youngest kids Fenton, 19, Emilia, 18, and Bertie, nine. 

And the family have been living the American dream ever since in their sprawling beachside abode with amazing views of the Pacific ocean.

Patsy looked happier than ever as she marked her special day with her nearest and dearest as they gathered around the kitchen table to sing happy birthday to her.

The intimate affair saw Patsy presented with a plate of sweet treats including cupcakes, donuts and chocolate cake, which were lit up with candles.

The star looked delighted and flashed a broad smile as her loved ones sang and clapped around her.

She then enlisted her youngest child Bertie to help her blow out her candles.

Keeping things casual for the occasion, Patsy donned a white T-shirt with a good luck cat printed on it, while her famous auburn tresses were swept up into a loose topknot. 

Patsy, who has carved out a career as a DJ in America, later showed off her skills as she enjoyed a DJ session in her living room.

The star appeared to be having worlds of fun as she blasted out the tunes and showcased her moves, before joking that the Instagram music police were coming for her.

Patsy’s birthday celebrations come after she recently broke down in tears due to fears over the coronavirus pandemic.

She took to Instagram to share her emotional post, in which she also admitted that she went out panic buying, before guilt got the better of her.

Uploading an image of the sun rising over her breathtaking ocean view, the actress shared that she decided to address her worries by donating food to charity.

She wrote, in part: ‘Yesterday I became very overwhelmed whilst having dinner . I didn’t say anything because my little boy was sitting there and like any of us we want to keep happy so that the kids do not become scared at this time .

‘It past but then I thought how that moment can get us from nowhere . I went out panic buying , then I felt bad so I donated to @feedingamerica for the foodbanks so that it helps everyone eat .

‘I cried in Costco as I thought of the people that are pressured to buy food & essentials Incase of a lockdown , but what if they don’t have money and are completely overwhelmed with fear that can have a knock on effect mentally for them and their children.

‘Today I choose hope , we have nothing to loose at this time only our minds !!!! There is always a different way to think . I’m trying to adopt this , as you know even before the virus as it definitely helps and in a global level.’ [sic]

She then urged her fans to follow psychospiritual counsellor Bobby Klein in a bid to help them meditate.

The actress added: ‘Chris Martin has been taking requests a is urging friends to do the same . You see I’m choosing these things to look at today . I love my life and we are now all in this together . One planet.’ [sic]
