Chris Sebastian’s audition for The Voice on Monday left some viewers furious, with many calling it a conflict of interest.
The 31-year-old singer also happens to be the younger brother of Voice coach Guy Sebastian, who immediately recognised his brother’s voice and spun his chair around.
But many viewers thought it was unfair Chris was allowed to audition, given his close connection to Guy, 38.

‘I absolutely feel like Chris shouldn’t of been allowed to audition,’ tweeted one viewer, while another added, ‘Chris Sebastian, Guy will hire him’.
One outraged fan called it ‘so inappropriate’ and labelled it a ‘conflict’.
‘Um pls explain how Chris Sebastian can be on the show with Guy on the panel?’ tweeted another viewer.

But others came to the talented singer’s defence, and said people needed to ‘get over’ the fact Guy and Chris are brothers.
‘Can all the Karen’s please get over Chris Sebastian being on the voice while Guy is a judge,’ wrote one fan.
An emotional Guy spoke about how proud he was of Chris following his performance, struggling to talk as he choked back tears.

‘He’s very R&B. I mean, we both grew up singing a lot together. But we are super tight. Like, hoo!’ he said, before needing to stop and take a deep breath.
He continued: ‘I’m so proud of you, bro, like… I…I mean, I’ve taught Chris as much as I have tried to… and obviously never wanted to make it awkward for him.’
Getting emotional himself, Chris confessed he was ‘trying not to cry’, before ultimately picking Kelly Rowland’s team.
