The Voice fans can’t resist poking fun at coach Kelly Rowland’s over-the-top blue dress

‘Kelly’s shoulder pads are great for social distancing’: The Voice fans can’t resist poking fun at coach Rowland’s over-the-top blue dress… and even Boy George gets in on the joke

There was certainly no missing Kelly Rowland on Monday’s episode of The Voice.

The 39-year-old American singer opted for a bold aqua blue mini dress with a plunging neckline and oversize shoulders.

And viewers of the hit Channel Nine singing show and fellow coach Boy George couldn’t resist commenting on her eye-popping ensemble, with the general consensus being it wasn’t her best look.

‘Kelly got dressed in the dark it seems, not her finest fashion hour. FFS Kel, what’s with the bat suit??’ wrote one viewer on Twitter.

‘Kelly’s shoulder pads are great for social distancing,’ added another, while someone else asked, ‘Why is Kelly wearing a pillow case?’

Another viewer described it as looking like a ‘Venus flytrap’, while others questioned her judgement and asked what the show’s wardrobe department was ‘thinking’.

‘There is no way Kelly put that thing she is wearing on and thought it looked good enough for TV,’ tweeted one person.

‘I love Kelly but why put her in that God Ugly dress. It does nothing for her, in fact it hides her beautiful figure while drawing your eyes to her chest instead of her gorgeous face. What were they thinking????’ added another.

One viewer tweeted: ‘Obviously poor ole Kelly got to the wardrobe department last. Oh well… a blue garbage bag with a slightly too big hole in [it] will have to do. Dress design FAIL.’

And after Kelly complained early on in the episode that none of the contestants had chosen her to be their coach, some fans said her dress was to blame.

‘Maybe Kelly would get some singers choose her if she didn’t have the girls hanging out. Imagine getting hugged by that?’ tweeted one fan.

After losing a contestant to fellow coach Delta Goodrem, Kelly pouted and asked why she was the only judge without a contestant.

Go big or go home: Fellow judge Boy George joked that with a dress like that, she was destined for big things, prompting Kelly to flick water in his direction

‘Why do nobody wanna be on my team? I’ve won before! They all got people on their team but me,’ she complained.

Fellow judge Boy George told her not to worry, and joked that with a dress like that, she was destined for big things, prompting Kelly to flick water in his direction.

‘Don’t listen to her, something big’s gonna happen. She ain’t worn those shoulders for no reason! Something big’s coming, I know it,’ the 58-year-old singer laughed.
