P.E Nation founder Pip Edwards’ secret career is uncovered – as it’s revealed what she did before becoming Bondi’s trendiest fashion designer

P.E Nation founder Pip Edwards is considered one of Australia’s hippest fashion designers.

But the 40-year-old wasn’t always a style queen, and in fact used to be a singer for a well-known pop group.

In resurfaced footage from her 2015 interview with Tea with Jules, Pip revealed she had once performed with Sneaky Sound System.

Fancy that! P.E Nation founder Pip Edwards wasn’t always a style queen, and in fact used to be a singer for a well-known pop group

‘I spent a bit of time with them in the studio on their first album,’ said Pip, who is good friends with singer Connie Mitchell.

But she didn’t just observe the studio sessions; she actually performed on two songs.

‘I was always listening to their tracks and I actually sung on two of their songs on their first album,’ she explained.

Pip is credited as ‘Pepper’ on the album. She performed on the track Tease Me and also ‘facilitated’ the number one hit I Love It.

‘I kind of helped out with that song,’ she said of her contribution to I Love It.

Pip went on to say that she would have entered the music industry had she not been drawn into the fashion world.

Despite being a successful designer, Pip is no slouch in the academic department either. Before co-founding P.E Nation, she studied commerce law at university.

After years working at General Pants as a design director, she launched her popular activewear label in 2016.

The brand became an instant hit with Sydney’s eastern suburbs social elite.

The business reportedly earned $20million in revenue in 2018-19.

Pip recently spoke about the impact the coronavirus pandemic was having on her brand.

She told the Australian Financial Review in April that sudden changes to the market had created a huge influx of problems.

‘We’ve got debtors increasing, our inventory is increasing and on top of all that our production is running late, so managing that all is quite a headache,’ she said.

Pip added that she was stressed because wholesale orders had slowed down due to store closures, creating even more challenges.

As for her personal life, Pip is believed to be newly single after a brief fling with retired Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke.
