Larry Lamb confirms Gavin and Stacey WILL return for more episodes following THAT cliffhanger

Gavin and Stacey is far from over, star Larry Lamb has confirmed.

The actor, 72, has dubbed the 2019 Christmas episode ‘cruel’, when it was left on a cliffhanger proposal.

He told OK! Magazine: ‘I think it would be pretty cruel to leave us on that cliffhanger. After the response it got at Christmas, you can more or less be certain that, sooner or later, there will be more.

To be continued…: Gavin and Stacey is far from over, star Larry Lamb has confirmed

‘I’m sure the BBC can persuade Ruth [Jones] and James [Corden] to write more, so it’s a question of when, not if.’

Larry, who plays Mick Shipman on the series, added that the schedules of the cast make it tricky to secure a full series – and that another one-off is more likely.

‘The problem is, logistically, it’s a bloody nightmare as so many people involved with it have very active careers. It’s virtually impossible for there to be a whole series, but I imagine there will be another special.

‘I’ve always thought a logical thing to do would be a Gavin And Stacey movie, but that’s just my idea.’

The show was the most-watched show on Christmas Day 2019, and saw the character Nessa ask Smithy to marry her. There was no answer, however – leaving fans desperate for more.

Writer and actress Ruth transformed into her beloved character from the show to offer important coronavirus advice to her fans in a recent video posted to social media.

Fans of the star heaped praise over her as they claimed it was amazing that Ruth got dressed up as Nessa to offer some light relief to the public.

The actress, 53, donned her leathers, black wig and Welsh dragon tattoo to film a video from home as she warned her followers to ‘stay out of her way’.

Nessa admitted she would ‘never tell anyone how to live their lives’, but encouraged people to stay safe and keep to the two metre rule introduced by government.

She said in her video: ‘Oh, what’s occurin’. Not a lot, other than a global pandemic – but the question was rhetorical.

‘Now listen, I’m not hear to give you advice, there’s plenty of others who will do that for you. It’s your life, and I’m not about to tell you how to live it.

She added: ‘I wouldn’t do that to no one, I wouldn’t even tell myself how to live my life.’

Ruth continued: ‘But I will say this, if you see me in the morning doing my daily run, my half marathon around Barry, don’t even think about breaking that two metre rule.

‘Cos if you does, I will not hesitate to tell you quite clearly, to back off.’

‘Because at the end of the day when all is said and done, no word of a lie, if truth be told just because you don’t feel ill doesn’t mean you’re not infectious!’
