It’s been a year since Anthony Minichiello underwent his third spinal surgery following years of serious back and neck injuries.

And the legendary NRL star, 39, demonstrated his incredible recovery on Wednesday as he performed a series of very impressive acrobatic moves on Instagram. 

Uploading a slow-motion video of himself exercising in what appears to be his personal gym, Anthony effortlessly executes a series of handstand push-ups. 

‘Strength, fitness & core stability,’ the muscle-bound sports star wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags: #MiniFit, #Fitness, FitnessAtHome, #fitnessmotivation, #MiniFitFam, #FitFam. 

Anthony suffered a spate of serious injuries during his rugby career.

He suffered a disc injury in is back in 2006, a subsequent back injury in 2007, a neck problem in 2009 and a persistent ankle injury in 2009.

Since then, Anthony has changed his life by prioritising good sleep, hydration and nutrition – all of which he claims helped him recover from past ailments. 

Speaking to DMarge last year, the athlete said: ‘I used to have stomach ulcers and skin rashes pop up out of nowhere because of a poor diet and prescription medications – along with the breakdown of my spine.’

‘They all disappeared pretty much straight away after changing my diet,’ he added.

Anthony said he even has an MRI image of his spine in 2007 and one from 2014 showing a clear improvement of his spinal dics over time.  

‘The comparison is astonishing,’ he said of the two scans. 

The father-of-one is currently self-isolating with his wife Terry Biviano and daughter Azura, six, at their mansion in Sydney’s affluent suburb of North Bondi.
