Peter Andre’s doctor wife Emily shares her thoughts on Boris Johnson’s lockdown ‘exit plan’

Peter Andre’s doctor wife Emily has shared her thoughts on Boris Johnson’s latest lockdown ‘exit plan’.

The Prime Minister, 55, dropped the ‘stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives’ slogan earlier this month for a new ‘stay alert’ campaign as part of a five-stage plan to get out of lockdown.

In a pre-recorded speech from Downing Street, Johnson urged those who can’t work from home to go back to their jobs, allowed unlimited outdoor exercise and hinted at schools returning in June and some public venues reopening in July.

Details about when people can see their families and friends were notably sparse, however. Britons have had to avoid meeting up with friends and families since March 16, a week before the full lockdown came in on March 23.

Sharing her thoughts on the latest ‘exit plan’, Emily, 30, who has been working on the NHS frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic said ‘people’s expectations are unrealistic’.

Writing in her OK! magazine column, she said: ‘Some people were left confused by Boris Johnson’s speech about easing the lockdown and I can understand where they’re coming from, but I also feel some people’s expectations are unrealistic.’

The junior doctor added: ‘The government has to give very generalised advice that applies to as many people as possible, but there will always be individuals who the advice can’t apply to.

‘It is frustrating that guidance around meeting up with family members isn’t clearer, but hopefully this will be addressed soon.’

Emily added that her parents live ‘hours away’ and so she is still unable to see them due to the restrictions.

The junior doctor has been working at a hospital in Surrey while husband Peter, 47, homeschools their children Amelia, six, and Theodore, three, at their house.

Emily’s comments come after Peter prepared a special steak dinner for the two of them on Friday night after he found himself in hot water with his wife for accidentally showing their son Theo’s face on Loose Women.

The singer shared a glimpse at their romantic meal as he took a video of the succulent steaks and chopped vegetables while the griddle warmed up.

Peter was even making his own sauce to go with the steaks, as he had chopped mushrooms and sweet chilli sauce to cook together for the recipe.

To complete the dish, he was also preparing steamed rice to go with the steaks and sauce for a healthy touch.

Over the video, he said: ‘Tonight I’m going to make a steak with steamed rice and a beautiful cream and sweet chilli mushroom sauce just for me and Ems, it’s going to be amazing.’

On Thursday, Peter said his wife Emily was not happy that he showed off son Theo’s face for the first time on TV and said he is ‘in the dog house.’

The couple have always been protective of the two children they share, Amelia, six and Theo, three, and made the decision to keep them out of the public eye.

But when Peter appeared on Loose Women on Wednesday Theo was crawling on him and gave him a cuddle while gatecrashing his interview.

Rather than make a big thing of it, Peter’s youngest child sat on his lap before leaving the room as he began discussing life in lockdown.

It is thought that Emily, 30, was at work at the time as she is a doctor working on the frontline amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Peter wrote on Instagram on Thursday: ‘I’m sooo in the dog house.. Hey accidents happen we are in lockdown…. @loosewomen @itv.’

During the interview, Pete praised his wife Emily for all she does as a mother and on the NHS frontline

His children with ex-wife Katie Price – Junior, 14 and Princess, 12, also jumped on the call and they have always had a public profile, appearing on reality shows.
