Chrissy Teigen tells ‘rich’ friends to stop asking for her PR boxes, throws shade at Alison Roman

Curated PR boxes for Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings line popped up on the social media feeds of celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian, Shay Mitchell and Ali Wong on Monday.

But it seems not all celebrities who wanted one were on the delivery list.

And the former Sports Illustrated model had a message on Monday night for some of her unnamed ‘rich’ friends asking for the boxes: stop.

Buy it: Chrissy Teigen had a message on Monday night for some of her unnamed ‘rich’ friends asking for her Cravings line PR boxes: stop

In a series of posts to her Instagram Stories on Monday night the 34-year-old explained that she had an employee driving around Los Angeles delivering the boxes and broke the news not everyone would be getting one.

‘Please don’t ask for a box,’ she wrote. ‘My marketing budget is not infinite but my love for you is.’

Adding: ‘Also I see some of you asking and you’re literally rich.’

Lounging on her couch, she went on to share a video, using a bunny face filter to further explain her comments and that it was not intended for fans who may want in on the boxes.

Surprises for fans: 'Any how, that wasn't even written for the fans asking for one,' she said. 'I'm gonna start doing a ton of giveaways'

Adding: ‘I’m excited to be able to put together things like this all the time and to show you guys how hard we work on everything.’

In true Chrissy fashion she dug in on her comments in a light hearted joke to her friends, saying some may still have boxes coming.

‘That was honestly just meant for my friends who are literally writing saying “uh mine hasn’t gotten here yet,” and “uh that’s cause I didn’t send it to you,” she said which got a laugh from her husband John Legend.

‘Just kidding, kind of, but they all haven’t gone out yet, okay? They’re not all out. I got someone driving around freakin Los Angeles doing this one at a time. What do you want from me, we’re tiny, we’re small, okay.’

And she didn’t stop there. She seemed to throw shade at food writer Alison Roman, who was in the news last week for comments about Chrissy’s rise in food circles coming fast.

‘I know it looks like everything’s just easy but I promise, okay, you’re gonna be okay,’ the mother of two said. ‘Maybe that comes from someone putting it in your head that we’re just a content farm with endless money and just got so big, so fast, but I promise we didn’t. As great as it looks.’

It's not as easy as it looks: 'I know it looks like everything's just easy...Maybe that comes from someone putting it in your head that we're just a content farm with endless money and just got so big, so fast, but I promise we didn't. As great as it looks.'

She added: ‘She had a successful cookbook. And then it was like: Boom, line at Target.

‘Boom, now she has an Instagram page that has over a million followers where it’s just, like, people running a content farm for her. That horrifies me and it’s not something that I ever want to do. I don’t aspire to that.’

Alison eventually apologized to Chrissy for the comments and they shared tweets back and forth, seemingly clearly the air.

But as for her PR boxes, Chrissy shared that once upon a time she once took the work that went into them for granted.

‘Before I actually had to make my own boxes, I would get boxes all the time. I would usually donate them or give them away and I usually just didn’t think twice about it,’ she said.

Adding: ‘Cause I was like “oh I’m sure the person that made this probably doesn’t even know this box came to me.” And then I started making my own…’

‘And holy s**t it’s a ton of work. Shoutout and much love to people who do it on their own. I had a lot of help…I put it together, it’s very curated, it’s like a labor of love. And I will never ever throw away or not thank somebody profusely for being sent one.

Teigen co-wrote her successful cookbook Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat with author Adeena Sussman back in 2016, and has gone on to launch a blog, kitchen line with Target and other products.

In 2018 she wrote a follow up cookbook titled Cravings: Hungry for More, which was met with instant success.
