These sweet treats may look good enough to eat – but they will definitely not leave a delicious taste in your mouth.

That’s because these seemingly tempting creations have been made out of soap.

Artist Yulia Popova uses the product to create amazingly realistic-looking food including cakes, tarts and pizzas.

She has even made a full roast chicken dinner from the household cleaning product.

Miss Popova, from St Petersburg, Russia, added: ‘Once I saw a cake made out of soap online, I couldn’t believe it and I wanted to learn how to make it. Every time I went to the grocery store I was looking for what I could use as a mould.

‘Now I’m inspired by bakery stores but new ideas may come after watching a movie, talking with an interesting person and especially after travelling.

‘For example, after a trip to France, I wanted to make a jar of olives and a cheese plate.

‘I get the most enthusiastic comments from people, they can’t believe that it is soap.’
