‘My son had a mullet!’ Kate Langbroek jokes that she’s become a hairdresser during isolation

Kate Langbroek has been cutting her son Lewis’ hair while in isolation.

During an appearance on The Project on Thursday, the 54-year-old said: ‘Well my eldest son has had a mullet. He’s been asking me to cut it off.’

Kate said that she didn’t want to cut it off, because she didn’t have any professional hairdressing scissors to use.

‘All I’ve got is these barbaric shears, like Edward Scissorhands,’ she laughed.

Lewis then came to join her in the interview and revealed his shorter hair, which Kate had cut.

‘It’s a definite improvement over the mullet,’ he admitted.

Kate recently  revealed her joy at being able to leave her apartment in Bologna for the first time in nearly 10 weeks.

After lockdowns were eased in Italy, the 54-year-old radio host enjoyed a rare outing with her husband, Peter Allen Lewis, last week, which she documented on Instagram.

‘We left the house. We drove in the car. We saw trees and dogs and cyclists and walkers. We saw our friend Giovanni at his restaurant,’ she wrote enthusiastically.

The couple drove past parks, which she said was a wonderful sight to behold after so many weeks cooped up at home.

She wrote: ‘[We] smelled honeysuckle. We felt the breeze. So much green. So much blue. I hope the world continues to open: it is glorious.’

Kate concluded by saying the family had ordered takeaway for dinner, giving her a well-deserved night off from cooking.
