Luisa Zissman fires back at criticism she received for purchasing a COVID-19 antibodies test

‘I’ve chosen to spend money I earn’: Luisa Zissman fires back at social media users who criticise her for purchasing a COVID-19 antibodies test when ‘others need it more’

Luisa Zissman has fired back at social media users who criticised her for taking a COVID-19 antibodies test when there are others who ‘need it more’.

The reality star, 32, uploaded a snap of herself where she appeared to be holding a blood sample after taking the rest, revealing it cost her £125.

However, some users were unimpressed, with one writing: ‘Are you a key worker?! Did you really need a test? Nooooooo’.

Speaking out: Luisa Zissman, 32, has fired back at social media users who criticised her for taking a COVID-19 antibodies test when there are others who ‘need it more’

Luisa defended her decision to purchase the test and replied: ‘Key workers can get tests for free. I’ve chosen to spend the money I earn on a test, I’m struggling to see why so many people have an issue with that?’

Another added: ‘Why put an Insta post up saying you have a test when you’re young and fit, there’s surely others needing them so much more!’

Another said: ‘Sorry for the negative post, but look us NHS workers don’t get this luxury. Me and many others have the £125 but don’t have the time to even get down there for a test.

‘Obvs be awesome to know if you are immune but lets give the frontliners the view first a? Being a nice person’.

Luisa wrote back: ‘The government are providing tests for key workers. Easily ordered via their website and posted to your home. Check out the .gov website, you will be entitled to one if you are a key worker’.

Another follower said a similar statement, writing: ‘Should have spent the money giving that to someone who needs it… tut tut’.

Luisa quickly defended herself and shot back: ‘My money that I earn. You can buy one too.’

Some users said the problem was that some people may not have liked the post because they are struggling to afford a test themselves.

One of Luisa’s followers wrote: ‘I think people just find it hard to see these things when they are struggling and can’t afford a test themselves.

‘Obviously we follow you because we enjoy your stories. It’s just hard when you can’t do things you really want, you need, and you do it with ease. That’s all… natural reaction. Especially in these trying and testing times.’

In her original post discussing the test, Luisa wrote: ‘Antibodies test sent off! Apparently 99% accurate so let’s wait and see, results in 2-5 days.

‘I really hope when I was bed bound a few months ago I had it!! We bought these tests privately after a lot of research from a company in London.’
