Lydia Bright was called a child abuser after having wine while looking after her daughter Loretta

Lydia Bright has revealed she was labelled a ‘child abuser’ by vicious mum-shamers after drinking a glass of wine.

The former TOWIE star, 30, told how she received the comment online after she had alcohol while taking care of her daughter Loretta, three months, by herself.

Appearing on Sam Thompson’s internet series Quarantea, the Made In Chelsea star asked Lydia if she has ever had to deal with the ‘mum police’.

Speaking out: Lydia Bright, 30, has revealed she was labelled a ‘child abuser’ by vicious mum-shamers after drinking a glass of wine

She replied: ‘I am very real on my Instagram stories… I really want to highlight the ups and downs of parenthood.

‘I want to show when I’m struggling. One day I’d had a really tough day, I was like, “I’m going to have a glass of wine”.

‘I haven’t really drunk for a year so the next day I had a headache. I said “I’ve got a little bit of a hangover this morning.” The next day, oh my gosh, I get called a child abuser.’

Lydia added that most people send her positive comments and she won’t let trolls stop her from enjoying herself.

She said: ‘It’s a small minority who send the abuse. But I’m not going to not share things like that. If I’ve had a hard day and I need to take the edge of then I’m going to do it.’

The reality star, who shares Loretta with her ex Lee Cronin, acknowledged it is sometimes difficult to deal with people questing her parenting skills.

She said: ‘When someone says something negative about your parenting responsibilities it hits a lot harder.

‘If you think you’re a bad parent then you’ve failed at life. That is the most important thing for any person as a parent.

‘Your child should come first, but I have to remember it’s such a small minority who think that. I’m so lucky, I get sent a lot of lovely messages and DMs giving me advice.’

Sam shared the chat on his Instagram page and wrote: ‘I’m really excited to share a chat I had with the lovely @lydiabright.

‘I loved hearing about her new foray into motherhood and all the trials and tribulations that come with it.

Lydia had previously posed with a glass of wine and captioned it: ‘Yes to the weekend’ and later admitted she was hungover the following day.

She wrote: ‘I didn’t put covers on my bed last night. I’m drinking Coke at 5am. Don’t judge’.

Some users were unimpressed, with one responding: ‘You shouldn’t be drinking while looking after your baby. That’s abuse, you know.’

Lydia defended herself on her Instagram Stories, reminding people she had not drank any alcohol in a year.

She wrote: ‘After a year of no alcohol, due to being pregnant, I had my first glass of wine this week.

‘Last night I had a couple of glasses. I wasn’t drunk, falling over and Loretta was in bed.

‘I have a small hangover, which is already lifting because clearly my body isn’t used to alcohol after such a long time. Give a girl a break!’
