While fans will still have to wait two weeks for the Season 3 finale of Fox’s The Masked Singer, the network is moving forward on a fourth season.
Fox executives revealed on an investors earnings call on Wednesday that a fourth season was happening, according to Deadline.
Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch told investors that they were hoping to start production late this summer, barring COVID-19 restrictions.

‘Should conditions allow for it, we are planning production in early August of Season 4 of The Masked Singer, which we’ll target for a fall debut,’ Murdoch said.
While Fox has yet to make an official announcement on the renewal, outside of the conference call, the pick-up comes as no surprise.
The Masked Singer was the highest-rated show in all of television in its first season, averaging a 2.59 rating in the 18-49 demo, beating out the final season of The Big Bang Theory (2.28 rating).

The show averaged 8.167 million viewers an episode in the first season, though the second season dipped slightly with an average rating of 2.02 and 7.049 million viewers per episode, on average.
With just two episodes left in the third season, the show has returned to its first-season form, averaging a 2.49 rating and 8.816 million viewers per episode.
This season returned with its premiere airing just after Super Bowl LIV, debuting with a whopping 8.14 rating and 23.71 million viewers.

Nick Cannon returned as host this season, along with judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger.
There have also been a number of celebrity guest judges that have stopped by this season, including Jamie Foxx, Jason Biggs, Leah Remini, Gabriel Iglesias, Season 1 winner T-Pain and, most recently, Gordon Ramsay.
Among the celebrities who have been unmasked this year include Sarah Palin, Rob Gronkowski, Bret Michael, Tony Hawk, Bella Thorn, Chaka Khan and Lil Wayne.

After tonight’s quarter-final episode of The Masked Singer, the reality series returns with the semi-finals on Wednesday, May 13.
There will be a ‘Road to the Finals’ episode on Tuesday, May 19 followed by the season finale on Wednesday, May 20.
The most recent singer unmasked was Hunter Hayes, on the April 29 episode.
