Mick Jagger, 76, is quarantining at his 16th century French castle La Fourchette

Sir Mick Jagger is currently happily holed up at his 16th century French castle, La Fourchette, which is situated on the banks of the Loire as he quarantines during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 76-year-old bought the chateau and the surrounding 20 hectares of land in 1982 with his then-wife Jerry Hall, for a princely sum of £2.2million and has had visits from the likes of David Bowie, Tina Turner and Paul McCartney.

The home is situated in a tiny village called Poce-sur-Cisse a few kilometres and it was originally owned by Louis XVI’s finance minister, Duc de Choiseuil.

It’s been widely reported that the last Stones album was recorded at the property and both Mick and the other members of the band are often seen in the nearby village when visiting.

Mick celebrated his 70th birthday here and likes to holiday here with his family and friends.

According to radio station RFI, Mick has called the property and the surrounding Amboise countryside his ‘haven of peace in the valley of kings.’

According to French news site, The Connexion, fitness loving Mick loves to go mountain biking nearby or go fishing or to attend local fetes or air shows.

Mick even gave a glimpse of the grounds of his castle on Monday when he provided a hilarious ‘public service’ video snippet as part of the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon at home.

The funny clip began with a British voice over, saying, ‘In times of international crisis, every man, woman and child must pull their weight.

‘But look at this fellow –– not a care in the world,’ the announcer continued, as the grainy image showed the Rolling Stones frontman seated while playing the guitar.

‘Hey, you there! Yes, you. What do you think you’re doing?’

From there, the announcer goaded Jagger into doing ‘something useful, all those chores you’ve been putting off,’ as the video showed Mick performing various household tasks.

In one shot, the Paint It Black rocker is seen hammering away at a doorframe, while other frames show him tending to the garden or preparing a meal.

One of the more amusing passages comes when Mick is seen shepherding sheep around a pasture, and even in the brief clip it’s pretty clear the task is quite beyond him.

Soon, it’s ‘gym time,’ and the septuagenarian father-of-eight is seen performing jumping jacks, cued by the uppity announcer.

On The Tonight Show’s YouTube page, the clip was described with the caption: ‘Mick Jagger provides a public service, on behalf of Save the Children, by illustrating how Jimmy and others can be productive while quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic.’

And while it was unclear how exactly the clip was related to Save The Children, both the video and its description ended with a call to donate directly to the charity.

Also on Monday, Fallon welcomed (virtually) both Ashton Kutcher and his wife Mila Kunis on the show, as the pair discussed their Quarantine Wine.

The couple, who met over 20 years ago when filming That ’70s Show, are making a pinot noir wine themselves for $25 per bottle, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to five COVID-19 relief charities.
