EXCLUSIVE: Jason Manford serenades neighbour on her 80th birthday with a rendition of On the Street Where You Live after she spends 7 weeks isolating on her own
Comedian Jason Manford surprised an 80-year-old neighbour on her birthday by serenading her on her doorstep.
The Masked Singer star, 38, performed Happy Birthday and a rendition of On the Street Where You Live to Avril Hill from Stockport, who’s been isolating on her own for the last seven weeks.
Jason was approached by Avril’s daughter Jo, 50, to cheer her up on Wednesday – with the rest of the street leaving their homes to join her birthday celebration.

In a tweet, Avril’s grandson Max, 24, said: ‘Grandma’s 80th today.
‘She’s been isolating on her own the past 7 weeks so the only contact she’s had has been through the porch window.
‘Entire street came out to sing her Happy Birthday and Jason Manford took time out of his day to say hello and sing her a quick song, class.’
Jason led three cheers for Avril who thanked him and her neighbours for wishing her many happy returns.

The star, who was revealed as Hedgehog on The Masked Singer this year, performed two songs for Avril after travelling a short distance from his family home in Manchester to be there.
Avril’s grandson Max told MailOnline: ‘It really made her day and meant so much to her.
‘Having the chance to see her family again after so many weeks albeit at a distance really put a smile on her face.’
Jason, who’s a father-of-six, landed a new job this week after being turned down for £8-an-hour shifts at Tesco.
Altogether: Avril’s neighbours joined Jason in wishing her many happy returns by leaving their homes and singing to her as she looked on from distance

He joked he was ‘livid’ after being told by they were unable to process his application due to roles at the supermarket giant being in high demand.
After being offered a job at Iceland instead, Jason has decided to lend a hand by driving the elderly to medical appointments.
Jason shared a picture of his volunteer driver badge while a fan praised the TV comic for being there for his neighbour.
They tweeted: ‘When Jason Manford turns up to pick up your elderly neighbour for her appointment #hero.’
