Cate Blanchett is in consideration to lead film based on the blockbuster Borderlands video game
Cate Blanchett is in talks to play Lilith in the movie adaptation of the video game Borderlands.
Studio Lionsgate is reportedly considering the Academy Award winner, 50, for the role according to Variety.
The Eli Roth-directed feature will be based on a 2009 space Western role-playing/first-person-shooter which is beloved by gamers.

The screenplay is being penned by Chernobyl screenwriter Craig Mazin.
Producing along with Roth will be Avi and Ari Arad via their Arad Productions banner and Erik Feig of PICTURESTART.
If cast, Blanchett would play Lilith, a superhuman ‘Siren’ who is one of the games several playable characters and one of only six women in the galaxy who have her psychic abilities.

An adaptation of the film was announced back in 2015 but development stalled tk.
