Amanda Kloots give another update on husband Nick Cordero’s health amid extensive battle with COVID-19: ‘We just still need him to wake up’

It’s been a long and arduous journey for Broadway star Nick Cordero since he was admitted to the hospital due to COVD-19 just over one month ago, but his wife Amanda Kloots has been keeping fans and followers abreast of the situation with frequent updates.

The latest such update came on Monday, when the fitness instructor, 38, took a moment to share that her 41-year-old husband is ‘doing good.’

‘He’s in recovery today and things are going well. The numbers on machines are going down, which is great,’ Amanda continued. ‘We just still need him to wake up!’

Kloots has of course been in close contact with her husband’s doctors, who she said ‘are just hoping and praying’ for Nick’s continued recovery after a medically induced coma.

Cordero’s complications stemming from his COVID-19 infection have unfortunately been extensive – the actor had to have his right leg amputated last month, and also received a temporary pacemaker for his heart.

Still, Amanda appeared hopeful on Monday, remarking that for next steps, ‘We need him to follow commands – look left, look right.’

Amanda also recently shared that her personal goal is to get Nick back home by June, in time for their son Elvis’s first birthday.

She also informed followers that she has recorded their son crying, which she plays for Nick in the hopes that it will wake him from the coma.

Kloots has been keeping his fans informed of how he’s doing and visits the medical center in Los Angeles where Nick is house every day, even though she has to send greetings to the actor from outside due to the coronavirus restrictions in place.

On Sunday, she gave another update, sharing that Nick, who remains on a ventilator, is stable after undergoing a tracheostomy.

‘He is doing okay,’ the fitness trainer said on her Instagram Story. ‘His vent settings are down which is good. That’s a really great sign that his breathing is going well.’

Kloots said that Nick is getting nutrition through a feeding tube and that’s helping him.
