Sunday Brunch Tim Lovejoy confuses viewers as he dances on lockdown show | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Tim, 52, and Simon Rimmer, 56, were on hand to host another instalment of Sunday Brunch today, presenting the show from their homes via pre-recorded video links. With viewers of the Channel 4 programme still living in lockdown, the stars of the programme wanted to give those watching at home some ideas about what they could do to fill their time. However, fans were left confused when the activity was revealed as it was very unorthodox.

As viewers may or may not know, Simon has shown off his dancing skills on the Strictly Come Dancing stage, having taken part in the competition in 2017.

Tim has often poked fun at his co-host over not winning the show, but this morning, it was his chance to show his skills on the dance floor.

Choreographer Darren Royston was on hand to help the presenter, giving instructions via video as the performer explained he was currently in lockdown in Bangkok.

The host didn’t learn the skills for ballroom, however, rather being taught how to perform moves used in the times of Ancient Greece.

Those watching at home were very bemused by the whole thing, especially when a saucepan, t-towel and spatula were brought into the equation.

Tim was certainly pleased the segment came to an end when it did, but could this be a hint he could be getting ready to take part in Strictly?

There have been clues dropped by Sunday Brunch over the years the other host could be taking part in the BBC dance show.

Taking to their official Twitter page, the show posted a clip of the presenter showing off some of his dance moves.

The post emerging on social media last year read: “Just waiting for that phone call from @BBCStrictly aren’t you @TImLovejoy?”

Responding to the post, the presenter replied: “Done deal,” to which Simon retweeted his co-star’s message.

With the 2019 series already airing and Tim not being a part of the line-up, he clearly hadn’t signed up.

However, with this year’s cast list yet to be announced, will the Sunday Brunch host be following in his co-host’s footsteps?

Will he succeed in overtaking the former Strictly star’s placing, having only got to week six of the BBC dance show?

Sunday Brunch airs Sundays at 9:30pm on Channel 4.
