‘He says the door is always open’: Netflix’s Nailed It! host Nicole Byer reveals how Conan O’Brien has been ‘crucial in uplifting her black female voice’ in her career
Outspoken American comedian Nicole Byer is best known for hosting Netflix’s reality bake-off series, Nailed It!
And on Sunday, the 33-year-old revealed her unlikely friendship with comedian Conan O’Brien has been crucial in keeping her motivated.
Speaking to Sydney Morning Herald, Nicole said the pair formed a friendship after appearing on his podcast, EarWolf.

‘He asked me to be on his podcast and his TV show in 2018. He says the door is always open to go back to promote whatever I have going on,’ she said.
Nicole continued: ‘He didn’t have to do that, but he’s been crucial in uplifting my black female voice.’
When she’s not filming her Netflix series, she is busy recording her comedy podcast Why Won’t You Date Me?

Speaking about her own relationship woes, Nicole went on to reveal despite having occasional ‘flings’ over time, she’s never been in a traditional relationship.
‘Sadly, I’ve never had a boyfriend. I have never had a relationship where two people are in love and committed to one another.’
Nicole relocated from New York to Los Angeles in 2012 to pursue her dreams of working in comedy.
