Sopranos’ Joe Pantoliano suffers ‘head injury’ after being hit by car

Sopranos star Joe Pantoliano was rushed to hospital with a severe head injury after being hit by a car.

The 68-year-old actor was struck by a Porsche during a walk with his family in their neighbourhood in Connecticut on Friday.

The Memento star was sent flying several feet backward into a wooden fence by the Porsche, which had skidded across the road after being T-boned by another car, his wife Nancy Sheppard said.

He suffered a gash on his head as well as injuries on his left leg and shoulder.

EMTs arrived quickly and rushed Joe to hospital, where he was given a CT scan, TMZ reported.

Joe – who played Ralph Cifaretto on The Sopranos from 2001 till 2004 – is now recovering back at home.

A family friend posted two photos of him giving the camera a thumbs-up while revealing the wound on his head on his Instagram account on Friday night.

They explained in the caption: ‘Joey is home recovering. He has a severe head injury and some chest trauma.

‘He is going to be dark for a couple days while recovering. Thank you for all the well wishes and positive vibes. Keep them coming!

‘We’ll reading them to him to help him get better!’

Both drivers in the crash stayed at the scene and police are investigating, accordin to the publication.

Joe posted a video of a rainbow that was filmed shortly before the accident.

He filmed the rainbow before showing his family walking in front of him and wrote: ‘Look at that rainbow! How do you like that beauty?

‘And all my little rainbows ahead of me.’ 

After shooting to fame in The Sopranos, Joe played Captain Howard in the Bad Boys films and appeared in films like The Matrix and Risky Business.
