Gemma Collins breaks down in tears over missing her beloved mum during lockdown – The Sun

GEMMA Collins has opened up in an emotional scene about how much she misses her mum as they’re kept apart due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The Towie star, 39, is at home in Essex on her own and opened about her struggles on her new series, Diva on Lockdown.

In the tumultuous second episode of her reality series Gemma to air on Sunday finds herself in deep water with brother Russell, attempts to join the nation for a Joe Wicks workout.

Despite the worldwide pandemic, she still manages to celebrate Easter weekend and Brian McFadden’s Birthday in quarantine.

But it’s a scene where she’s on the phone to her beloved mum, Joan, 65 where Gemma gets emotional as she opens up about missing her mum and fears about the coronavirus.

Lying on the sofa Gemma is chatting to Joan to whom she is very close and tells her when the lockdown ends she’ll take her to the garden centre for a treat.

Then when Gemma hangs up the phone she exclaims: “Oh, I miss my mum!”

With tears streaming down her face Gemma says: “What is she doing? I won’t see her over Easter. I know that she’s missing us and it’s the same for a lot of people…”

“It’s just so weird with everything that’s going on. A another further 831 people have died, too early to lift the COVID lockdown and I just hope that people this weekend.

“It’s just upset me seeing my mum, because I know she’s in the garden and she could have been with us out there.”

The reality star then admits she knows she’s one of the lucky people during the global pandemic.

She says:  “I am one of the fortunate ones. I haven’t died, my family haven’t died. It’s really scary, so yeah.'”

Gemma is starring in the three-episode series of Diva on Lockdown, whose first episode also started with heartbreak.

Her fans were left in tears with her after her dream home sale had fallen through.

The 39-year-old star sobbed in her car by the side of the road when she got the bad news.

Throughout the episode the star had poured her energy into shopping for her new pad, even visiting a kitchen and bath store where she begged the owner for a discount on a luxury bath.

But while driving back to her brother’s house, where she’d been living, she got the call to say the sale had crashed.

Gemma became overwhelmed and pulled over to the side of the road as she broke down in tears.

It hasn’t all been bad news recently for the beloved star.

This week her collection with In The Style became most successful celebrity collaboration to date in terms of sales within one month of launching.

The Sun revealed she had signed a six-figure deal with online clothing brand In The Style to design a collection based on her most famous memes.

Sales were buoyed after Little Mix’s Jade Thirwall sported a sweater featuring the “claustrophobic Darren” meme.

Jade wore the jumper which says: “I’m: Single, Taken, Claustrophobic Darren” during a video interview with Capital FM radio and she also wore it in a photo on Instagram.

Thanks to that shout out traffic to the In The Style website reached over 20,000 in a single day and helped shift over 6,000 units.

The item is priced at around £20 so they took over £100K after her support showing the power of being associated with the worlds biggest girl band.
