Ant McPartlin speechless as Britain’s Got Talent contestant reveals they’re ‘related’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Ant McPartlin, 44, and Dec Donnelly, 44, are back on hand to host yet another instalment of this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent. With the auditions firmly underway now, more and more contestants take to the stage to try and win over judges Simon Cowell, 60, Amanda Holden, 49, Alesha Dixon, 41, and David Walliams, 48. However, ITV duo Ant and Dec are left lost for words when one wannabe winner reveals they could be related to one of the hosts.

As viewers know, the Geordie duo retraced their ancestry last year, with the results brining up some rather unforgettable findings.

The popular presenters discovered they were in fact related by very distant means, with the programme hoping to tell they all they need to know about their families.

However, one contestant makes a very stark admission during this evening’s episode of the talent show as they take to the stage for the third time in as many years.

It’s not confirmed whether the pair could be family, but the revelation certainly leaves Ant speechless as he ushers them onto the stage.

Katherine and Joe are hoping it will be third time lucky for them, taking to the stage as characters from the Little Mermaid.

The judges have previously seen the pair perform as stars of other hit Disney movies, including Frozen and Beauty and the Beast.

This time around, the former is dressed as leading lady Ariel, whereas the latter is dressed in a huge crab costume in the role of Sebastian.

Joining the hosts backstage ahead of their audition, the contestant dressed as the undersea creature tells Ant: “Before we say something, can I say, me and you are related.”

The Little Mermaid performers receive huge support from the audience, but as always, it’s down to the judges to make the decision.

Having buzzed the pair, Simon tells them: “I would argue, out of the three performances, this is the worst we’ve had.

“Katherine, you’re not a bad singer,” he continues, before turning to Joe and telling him he has no idea who he’s supposed to be.

Ant knows what the contestant is supposed to be, correcting Amanda who thought Sebastian was a lobster.

Of her reaction to the performance, Amanda adds: “Joe, your tap dancing was furious. You never stopped moving.”

David tells the pair: “I thought it was highly erotic. For me, you are the spirit of Britain’s Got Talent because you’re two people who no discernible talent getting up and having a go.”

Viewers will have to tune in to see if Katherine and Joe did enough to get through to the next round in this evening’s episode.

Unfortunately, there has been no update on when the live shows will air as they are currently postponed due to coronavirus.

Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 8pm on ITV.
