BOLLYWOOD legend Rishi Kapoor died yesterday aged 67 after battling cancer.
Rishi, who was known for playing the romantic lead in dozens of films, leaves behind a wife and two children.
Who is Rishi Kapoor’s wife?
Neetu Singh and Rishi were married for nearly forty years after the pair had met on the set of 1974 movie Zehreela Insaan.
The actress, 61, made her way into Bollywood at the age of 13 and made her debut with the film Suraj.
She has appeared in a staggering 50 films as the lead heroine from 1973 to 1983.
Rishi and Neetu bonded as they worked on films together.
When Neetu discovered that her husband had cancer in 2018, she said she was devastated. Speaking to Hindustan Times she said: “My first reaction was, obviously very bad, I was devastated, my kids were devastated. We didn’t know what to do.
“But then we thought to ourselves that this is it, we have to deal with it. Where he (Rishi) is concerned, he was in denial. For 4-5 months, he was not himself.
I think when you start accepting that this is your issue, then you are stronger. I feel he is much stronger for the past, maybe 5-6 months.”
She stood by Rishi throughout his treatment and was there to the end.

The pair got married in 1980 but it took some work to get there.
Rishi and Neetu started their relationship as friends, but Rishi soon realised that his feelings were stronger.

They have a son, Ranbir Kapoor and a daughter, Riddhima Sahani Kapoor.
Riddhima, 39 who runs as works as a fashion and jewellery designer. It was revealed earlier today that she has requested permission to fly to Mumbai to attend her dad’s funeral, which she fears she might miss due to coronavirus lockdown.
Ranbir, 37, followed in his dad’s footsteps and became an actor and film producer. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Bollywood.

How did Rishi Kapoor die?
Kapoor was rushed to hospital yesterday morning after suffering breathing difficulties and sadly passed away in Mumbai, India.
His death comes one day after fellow Bollywood star Khan also died in Mumbai.
He was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and returned to India last year after undergoing treatment in New York.
Tributes have been pouring in for the star, with one fellow actor saying he is “destroyed” after hearing the devastating news.
