Ozark explainer: What happened to FBI Agent Roy Petty in Ozark? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Ozark released its third series on Netflix at the end of March and left fans on a disturbing cliffhanger. Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) got themselves even more entangled with the Navarro Cartel and finally met the boss Omar Navarro (Felix Solis). Their new stronger allegiance to Navarro however, came at a cost.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Ozark.

Sinister lawyer Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer OBE) had it in for the Byrde family ever since they came to the Ozarks.
Despite them both working for Navarro, she never trusted the Byrdes and wanted the family out of the picture.
But while she was loyal to the cartel, Wendy went above and beyond, handing over her brother Ben Davis (Tom Pelphrey) to Navarro’s hitman in a bid to keep her family protected and to show she could be trusted.
Clearly appreciative of the gesture, at his son’s christening, Navarro shot Helen in front of them and pulled both Wendy and Marty in for a hug with the lawyer’s splattered blood still on their faces.

In season two, Cade Langmore (Trevor Long) grows desperate for money and insists his daughter Ruth (Julia Garner) steals from her employer Marty Byrde.
But having just been given more responsibility by him, Ruth stays loyal and refuses to help her father out.
Now even more frustrated than ever, Cade turns to Petty for help while he is fishing at the lake, saying he can take down Marty.
During their discussion though, Cade tells Petty about Ruth’s involvement in their money-laundering scheme and the FBI Agent threatens to send his daughter to prison.
