Jake Gyllenhaal wears COVID-19 mask to shop at Erewhon in LA… after baking sourdough bread

Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal protected himself from COVID-19 by wearing a CDC-recommended mask to shop for organic, sustainable groceries at Erewhon Market in Santa Monica on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old LA native wasn’t wearing gloves but he sported a grey sweatshirt from his West Hollywood gym AARMY, dark grey basketball shorts, and white sneakers.

Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home order was extended through May 15 due to the 22,485 confirmed coronavirus cases in LA, which has led to 1,056 deaths as of Wednesday – according to Johns Hopkins University.

Missing from Jake’s side was his girlfriend of two years, IMG Model Jeanne Cadieu, whom he was last pictured with in Manhattan on March 12.

Gyllenhaal might remain tight-lipped about the French 24-year-old, but he couldn’t stop gushing on Tuesday over his newfound quarantine passion – baking sourdough bread.

‘Shhh! I have sourdough rising. It’s resting. My sourdough’s resting,’ the Spider-Man: Far from Home action star whispered to The Late Show host Stephen Colbert.

‘As my hair has grown longer, and as I’ve sort of slowly inched into the hipster world, I’ve found myself falling in love with sourdough.’

Gyllenhaal discussed how nervous he was singing a duet remotely with Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford on Sunday for Stephen Sondheim’s 90th Birthday Celebration benefitting non-profit ASTEP.

‘Look, it may be a surprise to you, but I am not a professional singer,’ the Columbia University drop-out admitted.

‘I don’t know. We had accompaniment and we had to sing [Move On] together with our EarPod and the timing was off. It was very hard.’
